Mother of all questions!

So I dont want to void my warrenty... yes i am a puss lol

Question is, since I am putting on a cat back exhaust system should I put in highflow cats now or wait till I put on long headers when my warrenty is up or do it now??

If don't mind wasting some cash in the mean time then go for it. You can always sell them for a few bucks after you get your headers. If you're looking for high flow cats I'd recommend Solo performance.

That decision always sucks about voiding your warranty or not. Luckily I work at a dealership and warranty my car for anything lol. And it's always good and helpful to have connections.

What he said....just wait. Messing around with the converters is best left alone until you're ready to install headers and get a tune.

Ok I thanks guys! I agree I should wait then. So another questions then... should I go with the magnaflow 2.5in cat back or the 3in cat back for now?? or is there another system I should look at thats cheaper and is still quality like magnaflow?

Get the High Flow cats and you will be happy for awhile. I purchased the JBA mid-pipes and they were the best mod for under $400.00 so far.

What I would recommend you doing is to look into a muffler delete. Most people are getting it done for around $100 give or take a little. Some have even got it done as cheap as $60. Go find a decent muffler shop by you and find out what it will cost.

This will get you reasonable sound for not a whole lot of money. Save they rest of your money to put towards Headers/Cat-back. When you're ready get the Headers/Cat-back all at the same time. The sound of a cat-back will change with or without headers. You might buy a system that sounds good now and then when you buy headers it's too loud. Or, the opposite, you buy a cat-back that's too quiet for your taste and you'll be disappointed until you do headers.

Actually the Magnaflow's with street mufflers are known to be quiet when you put it on stock headers/cats. With LT headers though they sound great.

Do a search on muffler delete. Tons of threads out there. With so little invested in a muffler delete you won't kick yourself if you have to dump it later when you do headers.

The other pro to saving your money and doing the muffler delete now is that prices might come down on the cat-back and/or something else you might like will come out. You might even find someone selling a used one.

I have L/T Headers and Magnaflow Hi-Flo cats and Chevy did not void my warranty because I did nothing to the Engine components.

Did you get a tune after you installed your long headers?? I went and talked to the chevy dealership around here and they said if i even put headers on it would void my warrenty....

So should i go with the magna 2.5 or 3? The 2.5 sounds good on stock stuff butwill i want 3in for later??

You have a real hard ass group fro a dealership. Here is what I am doing. I went to the service department of my dealership where I got my car. I will be bringing it to them for service in 3 weeks (After my break in period) They will be sending it out to a performance shop where they will be installing Kooks LT or Stepped headers with hi flo cats ,A CAI. Catch can and at performance tune and it will still be under warranty.. I am on the fence about the adding the Borla exhaust at this time. all depends on money.

I would go talk to your head service guy. if that doesn't work.. go to another chevy dealership.. because if the dealerships can send out a car to the SLP shop and sell it with a warranty. why not some other shop.

warranty....I swore by it, all three thousand miles of it. Truth is the ^%#$ servie managers up north were all pricks so I went ahead an voided it. The best thing I have done. All in all put whatever bolt ons you want, even LT's= no warranty problems...internals, tune...bye bye warranty. This is exactly what a gm rep told me. However Lt's with no tune imho is completely ignorant...but everyones different.

Always good to know dealerships bend the rules for insiders and the street walkers can get bent.
