Solo HFC's and Magnaflow X, your opinion please

I am getting Solo Hi Flow Cats, they come with resonated pipes. What is your opinion on adding or not adding the Magnaflow X-pipe? I kinda want to get it all done at once, but I'm wondering if just the pipes that come with the cats will kill the drone and the raspiness, or if adding the X-pipe would help or hurt overall sound. What would you all do?
thanks,
Gary

In my opinion, I'd need to know what exhaust you are pairing them with before I made a decision....but a resonated X may not be needed unless you have removed the stock resonators and are running a pretty "resonator-less" style exhaust.

I'm a big fan of the magnaflow resonated X muffler, but for anyone unsure of whether or not they want to try it, I always recommend starting off without it and drive for a good while. If after a while you still feel it is too raspy or too much drone, the add it in.

Hrmm...well then I'd lean towards saying yes..add it, as I had another person with the Flowmaster american thunder axle back and added LT headers and did not care for the rasp. Recommened the res X to him and he said it sounded great after.

But I still think its a good idea to just try adding the solos first and see how it turns out.

I had the solo hfc with my mrt v2, either I am deaf or just don't know what a raspy sound is or it just doesnt bother me. The car with hfc sounded great to me . As KMprenenger said I would wait.

Quit posting and ship my cats already .
My Flowmasters were a little raspy to me but when I added the DT shorties its ridiculously raspy, im thinking the cats are gonna make it even worse. But the cats have resonators on them so maybe I will try without first, at least that way I will know. And if all else fails I too will join the MRT Army!
Before I do any of this I will try to post a video of the rasp, but I only have a smartphone to do video, and not too sure how it will come out.

In cabin Vid

Ok, I am going to try to load a video of the rasp I am speaking of. I will do an outside video later today. Doug Thorley Shorties, Flowmaster AMT axle back, CAI intake. Slow rev and quick revs.

Here is outside the car, I don't think the phone picked up on the rasp as well as it did on the inside, but you can definately hear it in a few spots, it is much worse in person.

I have the same setup as you, and thinking about adding solo hfc's also. Post how you like them and a video as soon as they're installed!

Im getting the hfc's installed Monday, will post a video soon after. I talked to the Muffler guy and he said he will install the HFC's and let me try it out a bit, and if I don't like it he will install the Magnaflow x-pipe that day or the next if I want. Cutouts are gonna be soon to follow.

Try it with the HFCs, they may help with the rasp, if that doesnt help or makes it worse, definitly go for the resonated X pipe

Have you seen the V6 SOLO HFC videos on youtube? With stock exhaust and SOLO cathback? The SOLO catback is a resonated X I believe so it should help with giving you a sense of the rasp
