Finally home. I was reminded tonight how dangerous an out of control wheel can be on a highway, epically one off of a semi or large bus. The wheel crossed the highway hit a Ford F-250 traveling in the opposite direction, ripped the entire front end off. Driver was ok, but needed a change of underwear. These were Ohio State charter buses too. I have a feeling that this will not end well for the University.

What is that sitting on?

So it just like tore off? after a pothole or something or did it happen randomly?

Crazy!

Just a reminder for those who Don't ride on busses where the wheels fail to go round and round:

This is TODAY: MARCH 4th at 1:00 PM:

Its time to put your driving skills to the test...

This is for Full throttle Indoor Karting in Springdale, and then lunch/dinner near by (maybe Dave & Busters? its next door).

since we already have confirmed more than 8 of us, cost is $17 a person for one race. These are full speed, 40 MPH karts, unlike those go kart tracks at places like destination resorts and kings island and stuff... this is REAL racing.

Feel free to bring friends/family, even the younger ones. No RSVP is necessary- PM me, txt me, or call me with any questions: 617-BumbleB (yes I'm in cinci)

Not sure which OTR that is. We haven't sent any of the brand new ones out on charter yet though.

I'm sure I'll hear about it at work tomorrow.

Hell, I found out the other day I had been driving 2206 around with a punctured curbside rear tire all day.

That is the brake rotor and caliper, still on what i think is a spindle? The rotor is red hot from being dragged about a thousand feet. It looks like the hub failed and the wheel just worked is way off.

Made it home a 3:30, will be carting this afternoon. Gonna need more than a wheel-less bus to stop me.

Mid-Atlantic Vacation

So, It looks like we're skipping the Power Tour and heading towards the Atlantic for vacation this year. I'm thinking Outer Banks, Blue Ridge Pkwy., Deals Gap/Gatlinburg.

Anyone got suggestions for places to visit or specific roads?

Total trip will be about 10 days, so I'm planning plenty of time to take in the sights. Starts and ends at number 8 on the map. Each number is planned overnight stay.

Shenandoah National Park and Great Smokey Mountain National Park are well worth the visit! They take a lot more time than you'd think to see them properly. The drive N to S through Shenandoah on Skyline Drive (it's the northern end of the BR Parkway) is up high with beautiful vistas both E and W. Also, if you like wildlife, Great Smokey Mountain N.P. (at the southern end of BR Parkway) now has an Elk herd and there is a good chance to see black bears there.

Great Smokey Mountain is a bit more commercialized at the towns on each end of the park than Shenandoah. So, we liked Shenandoah a bit more. Both are nice though.

We're pretty familiar with the South end of BRP/Gatlinburg, been there 6 or 7 times. The last 3 night we are staying in a cabin near Gatlinburg and our son will drive down to stay with us. I'm planning 2 days to make the trip down BRP from Waynesboro to Maggie Valley, then another day in the Deals Gap area.
Sad to miss out on the Power Tour, but looking forward to this trip.

Cherohala Skyway was better than Tail of the Dragon in my opinion. More relaxed and much nicer scenery. A nice waterfall on the north end a few miles off the road.

My next door neighbor picked up her 2SS/RS L99 triple black vert yesterday. She had a 97 vert when she moved in, so she said she's familiar with top rub issues. Told her about this thread, so hopefully she will join the madness soon.
