Carbon Fiber Color Match
Does anyone know whether the remin red/black cf or orange/black cf matches AAC's red/black carbon fiber door panels?

HAve you downloaded pics and put them side by side? That would tell you if they're way off... then you could ask for 2 samples to physically put side by side to see if they're close.

I think that AAC are real carbon fiber where as the CarID one is just hydro carbon (or something of the equivalent)

I thought that as well but I remember someone saying that it's real carbon fiber underneath the clear coating.

I don't know if either of them will provide samples. I'll have to ask.

I am like 98% sure that CarID's isn't real carbon fiber. I have their overhead console kit and that's not real CF.

On the car id site it says real carbon fiber "strands" in the description. I don't know if it's the same thing though.

I dunno
I mean the stuff is bendable, as far as I know real CF isn't bendable.

Plus it's pretty cheap compared to other cf pieces. I wish there was a way to find out.

I had their like 122 something piece kit in my 2010 and while it looked like carbon fiber, it was more hydro carbon with multiple clear coats than real carbon fiber.

So putting this in with the real carbon fiber door panels won't look right?

Everything I read about the Remin kit is that it is real carbon fiber mesh with a flexible clear material over it, rather than the resin which is what glues the carbon fiber mesh together. It's the reason that keeps it from breaking easy and the carbon fiber that keeps it from tearing, and makes it light.
search fro CARID or Remin in the search and you will find tons of threads about it, PM the members who have it and ask them. My sister has some on her car it looks like the real CF mesh with a silicone based coat over it rather than resin. But I could be wrong, I've thought about getting their blue kit. Email CARID and ask them to send you a sample, then send that sample to AAC or ask them to send a sample of a finished piece of their CF and match them up that way. Most companies give out free samples. At least they do in the Architectural finishes industry.

Getting a CF sample from AAC might be easier said then done. Making CF isn't exactly cheap. I have both the Resin CF and real CF in my car. I can take some photos if you'd like.
