I have about $3600 in mine right now. That's just amps, speakers and wiring. I will have about twice that when I consider it done. Then I may still do some upgrading.
Still plan on a new head unit w/dash kit, swapping some speakers and a sound processor.

9k. I would rate it 8.5 out of 10 but I like good audio. I would probably need to drop 5 - 10 more to be completely satisfied.

I have about 4500 in mine, and would rate it a 8.9 out of 10. I have to get my EQ installed, it is sitting in a box right now and I want to dynamat my car. So that is why it is an 8.9. I am very pleased with my system. My car is a DD so spending the money on it is worth it.

JL XD700/5 channel amp, Focal 10" sub, Polk Audio side and door speakers, plus ******** harnesses and mounting plates. A little less than $1,000.
Awesome sound. Self installed. |

Somewhere around 11-12k, but not all at once. Still using the same 12W7's I bought in 2001
Alpine F1 Status deck was the majority of that cost as well. LOVE it.

I have my equipment, just reluctant to perform surgery. And the factory non-BA is decent(for now)

For all you guys that are running the stock Boston speakers with an aftermarket four channel amp, how would you rate the sound from the BA's?
I currently have a ******** X3 harness, Probox, 12" Orion Pro sub and Orion 500W Amp with remote bass control. Maybe $300 in the system and it sounds really good to me. I have been thinking about changing out the stock amp for a XD400 thus my earlier question.

No I didnt. Yes there is some. The music is usually so loud, that I cant hear it inside though. Prolly sounds like a beater on the outside though.

The Boston acoustic speakers are quality but it the amp that's crap. I spend upward of $3000 but I used quality products and didn't skimp on the details. My install includes the following:
JL audio HD750/1 JL audio HD600/4 JL audio W6v2 12" X2 JL audio bass remote Sub thump stealth box Sub thump FARK JL audio interconnects and distribution blocks Sound proofing matt which I forgot the brand I would rate it very high and couldn't be happier. Plenty of bass when I need it and crystal clear mods and highs. I can post some picture if you wish. Basically I think there no need to replace the factory speakers. |
