Rock chip DIY repair?

Does anyone have any suggestions for touching up the paint chips on my gills from rocks? Application technique, applicator suggestions? I would love to hear it. Did a search but no luck. Getting ready to start showing her again, and the chips make me sad!

That drcolorchip thing scares the hell out of me-- smearing all that excess paint over my gills and wiping at it and then expecting it to look good? IDK. I'd really like to be able to use my GM factory touch-up paint.

Don't let it scare you, I've used it on mine, too, and for that regular road-rash stuff, it works great! The color was an EXACT match!

I used it on a couple of larger chips, too, and for those it wasn't the best - they were too large and deep for the wiping technique to work. In the future, I think that putting some factory touch-up in the larger chips (and letting it cure) before using the drcolorchip might work better.

But, for the smaller nicks and scuffs, it wasn't difficult and the results are great, even on my black car!

Don't be scared, but find a hidden area to play with and get used to it before applying to where you can see it. Practice makes perfect.

I used Dr Colorchip and the paint looks to be an exact match. I'm terrible at doing these types of things and even I figured it out and thought it was pretty easy.
