I'm picturing a guy with a dented camaro, parked next to a Taurus and a challenger, keying them both cause they're parked too close and then trying to ram a pallet of mayonnaise in to that little camaro trunk opening before the owners get back out.... Based on the posts I read and I ####ing love this thread. Keep it going please.

Well if you're a chubby chaser, you just wait in the parking lot for the chick who drives the Charger to help you. She should be pretty willing to date you at the sight of all that mayo.

Also to the OP...so you saw some POS Charger parked a spot away and decided that he was giving your car respect? LOL ok...I guess the Taurus was too right? heh
The only post worth reading. I love my Camaro as much as the next person, but I recently got to sit in and ride in a Murcielago and wow, it knocked me and my Camaro down a few pegs.

I'll bet when that Murcielago owner drives to Wal-Mart, he's gotta park really far away!

I got my bumper scraped by someone in a parking lot last week. Do you see me on here wigging out over it? I mean, come on, guys, really.

sorry, but I missed the part in your story that says how you gave respect and how you did not act like a "Richard Cranium behind the wheel". All you seemed to have done is parked at Wal-Mart.

Oh I get it - you think the Charger guy was giving you respect? Ok, but I still don't get how you gave him respect back? Perhaps you mean that you were tempted to go kick in his door, but since he parked one space away you didn't? Is that what you mean by respect?

Most folks are right in this thread about these being mass produced cars and just because they are awesome looking machines they are STILL mass produced cars.
I usually drive normally and park just a little farther away then I used to when I had my Avalanche, I have learned to not worry as much about my Camaro like I did when I first got it, if it gets a door ding then it gets a door ding, it wont be my first time I have ever gotten a door ding (although I havent gotten a door ding on the Camaro yet....knock on wood) I havent gotten any scratches that I havent done from my own stupidity(aluminum shed door blew open and smacked against my front fender leaving a scratch through my clear coat)
Sh!t happens, live with it, accept it......life goes on. In general if you show some respect for other peoples property in parking lots then you will most likely get that respect back. I make it a habit to just park at the end of a parking line so that just one side is exposed to potential damage from other cars, or I park a little ways out from the other cars, not all the way out at the outer perimeter because that shows "pr!cks" that you are paranoid of others, and so they will most likely go out of their way and mess with your sh!t, so to me it is a compromise to park about three or four spots out from the end of the line. If I am forced to park between two other cars I always look for a spot between two decently cared for cars or expensive cars, usually there is a chance that these folks wont want you scratching or dinging their cars if they are in nice condition.
Other than the above advice that I just gave, I just don't worry about my car, its not worth the headache, if it happens then it happens, I will get over it. And also since I stopped worrying I noticed that more and more folks are giving me ample room around my car in a parking lot. One good thing about these cars also is the fact that there are a lot of them out now and so they really don't stick out like a sore thumb and draw an a$$load of attention like they used to, I like how they are "low Key" now......hate being stared at, even though folks cannot help but to stare at these beautiful machines

this can be taken two different ways..Is it about respect that the guy parked one spot over? Or is the Op implying it is the "same" category of car therefore he gave the respect of not parking up on his door? Just wondering because a $18000.00 V6 charger is not exactly the same category and not out of the realm of cars to be seen at walmart either.

This whole thread is so ridiculous it is actually entertaining. I won't say what I thought when I read the opening post, but most of you guys have summed it up. I actually think the chances of the guy in the Charger parking a spot away to avoid getting HIS door dinged are higher than the so called "respect" he was supposedly giving. And I find it hilarious that the dude actually took the time to back up and take a picture. Either way, this thread is friggin fantastic...keep it coming
