You need to head to the gym to work off your stress. :bangdesk:
It wont speed up the process but it might encourage them to actually release some information or a ETA on orders.

BTW...they never promised that the RP6 cars would be built first..they were all guaranteed to be built be the end of the third quarter..

I'm sorry but exactly what do we have to complain about. Did they guarentee any of us exact dates as to when we will see our cars? Not that I'm aware of and if your dealer guarenteed you anything he is probably an idiot. They estimated Q3 and they are probably going to beat that. It probably wasn't the smartest thing being a really early preorder, your getting battery cable issues, brake weights, and other stuff. Now we all know there are gonna be bugs to work out with any new car. Yes they took preorders in october but lets not forget didn't start making these cars till march. So lets say you got yours in march and it had all kinds of problems with it left and right your taking it back, well then you would be complaining about them not taking there time and not producing a quality car. I think they are trying really hard to please us and i feel like I am one of the few patiently awaiting my beautiful new 2010 Camaro. Your gonnna get your car and its gonna be awesome they are doing their best.

I see you ordered in FEB.

So its just fine with you if they build an order for a person who ORDERED April 1st? and you are still waiting?

Yep sure is, you guys are forgetting it all has to do with dealer allocation and other factors. If gm said were taking preorders first come first serve then you could complain if you were 10000 in line and anyone 10001 or later got there car before you did you would have a legitimate complaint. But last I checked they did not presale first come first serve. I was told by my dealer in feb it might be six months and it prob won't be that long so I don't mind waiting at all.

I'm glad you brought up allocation and consensus etc. Thats GM's way of doing business. does not mean it right. They always bring up the big Honda case. That case does not apply here. I'm surprised nobody has brought that up yet. GM opened a can of worms when they did the preorders. If they did NOT do the preorders, they can hide behind the allocation rules and we can't complain. but guess what, they did the pre-orders and they can't now say allocation rules apply. Once GM corporate took our names and DATES, allocation goes out the window.

Now, I dont want to reinvent the wheel here, we just want thing fair thats all.

What does dealer allocation have to do with the build sequence? I've spent many hours this week studying the Federal and some state franchise laws and nowhere does any of them state that an automotive manufacturer cannot build all the sold allocations before the un-sold allocations. Everything points out to the same subjective message "fair and equitable".

The allocation process used a formula which consisted of looking at Mustang sales, Corvette sales and dealer performace. If this was deemed as 'fair and equitable' under the Federal and state franchise laws then surely an automotive manufacture would have the ability to build the cars as they are sold. What is so unfair about that trade-wise?

Every dealer had their allocations and they had a choice to sell them early, or not at all. It would be a joke to see a dealership launch a lawsuit because dealer B received a sold order before dealer A received his unsold order. If that scenario wasn't whinny cry baby, I don't know what is.

The reality of a Dealer raising cane with Gm over them filling sold orders right now is minimal at best. With Gm facing bancruptcy which is a very high probability, all the franchise contracts can be torn up. Why would a dealer put himself in a bad light with Gm over a few cars and risk losing the privelidge of selling Chevy's. I agree with Hylton and his findings regarding fair and equitable. The standard is that as long as all are treated the same then it has in fact been fair and equatable. If 98 percent of dealers were only getting pre-ordered pre-sold orders and 2% were still getting stock or post pre-ordered cars that would not be fair and equatable. In actuallity if only one post pre-ordered car were to go out that would not be fair to the other dealers. Good luck Hylton if you need anything PM me and I will see what I can come up with.

I do not think posting negative comments to the BBB on GM is the proper way to address this problem. The BBB is like a court of last resort when you have been stuck with a product that did not perform properly, or have been ripped off by the manufacturer in another way causing financial loss. Its a way to inform potential customers that it is not safe to deal with a particular business, and applies more to an individual dealer than the manufacturer in this case. But only if the dealer is guilty of unethical business practices (like ordering a car in your name, guaranteeing MSRP, and then selling it to someone else for a higher price).

I'm not happy about the way GM is treating us pre order customers either in respect to the order the cars are being built, but it really does not fall in the catagory of a BBB complaint. I doubt it could even be a valid class action suit. A basis for a financial loss would be subjective at best and based on each individual circumstance and would not be collectible after they declare bankrupsy anyway. And GM is doing the best they can to avoid giving us an inferior or unsafe product.

I think we're all stuck in the same boat, and if you want to jump overboard the dealer will give you your deposit back. I'm torn between waiting and buying a used XXXXX car instead too. And has been said so many time before, much of this pain and the individual problems caused by these delays could be avoided by a few simple statements and status updates by GM. I guess its just not a good time for them to be making many statements with all that is going on.

A good lawyer would probably be telling GM to just keep their mouth shut right now. And GM is known for listening to their lawyers......
