The aftermarket Hurst has a 44% reduction vs. a 22% reduction on the factory Hurst. Several people have complained about the aftermarket Hurst being to much of a reduction.

My question is why on earth did you put the aftermarket Hurst in if you got the factory Hurst?

for the OP, I did a poll seeing what shifter people who experienced 2nd gear grind had

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203104

the results are pretty much even between stock, OEM Hurst, Hurst, other aftermarket

With the aftermarket Hurst with a 44% shorter throw, you should get quicker shifts with a normal pull of the stick, so you don't have to yank it hard and fast to get quicker shifts. Can't to try mine out next week, I'll let you all know how it goes.

I know what you are talking about. I didn't have full throttle 1-2 grind until the hurst, just have to give a slight hesitation for the synchro to do its job and its OK.

This has been EXACTLY the same way almost all Hurst manual shifters have been constructed since the early 60's. And hasn't been a problem for close to 50 years. Many Hurst shifters run an upper stick that is several feet in length and with all that leverage still no problems. Any first gen Camaro owners having problems with the stick connecting bolts on their Hurst shifter?...

... didn't think so.

Ignore the posts from this dude and techinny. They have been trolling and spreading this BS in several forums here on C5.

Nothing wrong with the design and I agree with your assessment as I have had several Hurst shifters in many cars over the years without issue.
