Someone backed into my car tonight...at least it's not all bad news

I just got to school where my car was parked while I got car pooled to a party and saw that the back of my car was scratched up in the back :(. I parked in a faculty space because it was after hours and nobody ever parks there and I was still lucky enough to get backed into. On the bright side, the person who did it was nice enough to leave her name and number on my windshield. Good to know that there are still nice and considerate people in this world.

I do a cruise here in Washington for 5th gen Camaros every year (ok, just the last 2 years).

Last year, I had arrived early at the meeting point. I watched this HUGE pick up truck back out, cut the wheel early/wrong, and scrape into the rear quarter panel of a car that was parked on it's left

The lady continued to back up, till she was at a 45 degree angle to the parking spots, then look around...saw me standing about 20 feet away watching her closely. She stared at me for about 5 seconds before I glanced at the car she hit and back to her.

I'm pretty certain if she hadn't seen me there, she would have driven off. She gets out of the car and says "That's not so bad", and starts to walk back to her truck.

I tell her, she better go in to the diner where most of the people that park in that lot go, and see who owns the car. Again, she looks at the car like a scrape isn't really a bad thing, but I think my scrutiny forced her to find the owner.

One weekend my wife and I went the Tail of the Dragon in TN. It was a fun weekend. We put on over 700 miles too. On our way home we stopped at a birthday party for a friend. We were leaving and seen someone had hit the LF fender. Have no idea who did it, costed me $350 to have it fixed. So at least you know who hit yours. Sorry, it stinks.

My wife and I were pulling out of a parking space in our 4 month old jeep grand Cherokee. A lady back into us from her spot. She gets out and apologizes, admits to me, my wife and the police that it was completely her fault because she wasn't paying attention. Two days later her insurance company calls and tells me she denied any responsibility and I will need to seek a lawyer if I wanted my car fixed or simply fix it through my insurance. Grrrrr!! OP, count your blessings because there is a world of a$$holes out there and honest people are the minorities.

I just got off the phone with the girl who hit me and she told me to find out how much it's going to cost to fix it. It looks like it's all going to be worked out nicely. I'll probably meet her half way with the repair cost for being so honest.

Here are some pics of the damage. It doesn't look too bad. Hopefully I don't need a full bumper replacement

Ouch.

What a nice girl though. Once everything is resolved with insurances you should take her out and hope for a happy ending!
