Really doing alot of research before i buy my exhuast and headers and im leaning towards the v8 cherrybomb setup with BBK LT's. And HFC later on to mellow it down if its too raspy. Which is why im here, do you guys think the cherrybombs and the BBK LT's would have alot of rasp? Not worried about drone too much my sound system will deffinatley block it out. Any thoughts would help! Thanks

Hey Ryan....welcome!
Just my opinion, but BBK + ARK DTS would be a way better combo than BBK + Cherrybomb. I do think the Cherrybomb would get pretty raspy with the LTs, while the ARKs are able to control that better and you end up with a very muscular tone.

The differences between the two are thus. N2 is sans resonators, features 2.75" piping and 4.5" slant tips. They are the louder CB of the two. PPL have reported a bit of drone particularly when used with long tubes but IMO this is the most BOSS exhaust for the V6 Camaro anywhere. Nice deep rumble at idle and great tone all the way to redline. The DT-S has resonators and features 2.5" piping and 4.5" burnt tips. (you can ask to have them polished for no extra charge I believe) See above and just tone it down a few decibels and very minimal drone even with LT's. This is what I have. It's aggressive but very livable. Rasp and drone are kept to a minimum. If this what you are after I don't think you'll find a better setup. On sale you should expect to pay between 900.00-1000.00 for the N2 and between 1000.00-1100.00. Otherwise these are 1400.00-1500.00 catbacks. Who knows maybe they're less than what I'm quoting you on sale. Give them a call. Nothing to lose but some Benjamins and only awesomeness to gain.

Thanks SIXJAK, been following your thread thats where i first started to like the ARK. Yours sounds really good cant imagine how good it sounds in person. But i was considering cherrybombs just because of how cheap it is but rasp is one think i CAN NOT have. Deffinately going to look into ARK a little more. Just on the fence if i want to spend all that on an exhaust system or get a CF Havok Rear Diffuser.. But i dont want to be dissapointed if i went with CherryBomb.

It is the resonated X that gets rid of the rasp, and you can get that for under $100. Magnaflows Part # 11386, you can get it at Summit racing amoung other places. Don't get me wrong, the ARK is a very nice product but basically its a resonated x pipe with aftermarket mufflers, and bolt on polished piping. It is all beautiful where mine is kinda frankensteined but no-ones been under the car looking. I think with the Magnaflow Res X pipe and the MRT 2, it would be a sound very very very close to the ARK DTS. It would not be as pretty tho; the magnaflow x needs to be welded to your existing pipes and they are not polished, but who is under your car looking???? Good luck with it. here is a link to my youtube videos, I uploaded many with my exhaust as it was in progress. If you use headphones you can hear it pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/user/metthem88/videos As you will see, the more you open up your exhaust, the raspier it gets; the more you need the resonated X-pipe. I don't have videos of just the Flowmasters, but it sounded pretty good, much better than stock, then I added the shortie headers, all I heard was the rasp. Then I added the Solo HFC's with resonated pipes and it got deeper but the rasp was still there. Then I added the X pipe and it got a little quieter, a little more refined sounding, deeper and no more metallic raspiness. It took a lot but the rasp ate at me every day.

Sixjak takes a corner too fast and slides into the ditch and flips. People come on to the scene and run over to help. Then they notice his shiny exhaust. "Oooooo, lookey there! That sure is purty!" Sixjak yells out from the car, "Help, I'm bleeding in here! And I can't get out!" Onlookers keep gazing at the exhaust. "Wow, I can see myself in it! I could probably shave using this exhaust." Sixjak says, "Nevermind, it's just a scratch, and I'm kinda comfortable hanging upside down. I think I'll just stay here and hope the gravity helps relieve that pressure on my back."

Soooooo deffinately going with the ARK DTS!! But now its picking the right header combo... BBK LTs? Or DT Shorties with some HFCs?? Would the shorties produce a deeper tone?? Without the rasp?? I know i'd give up the performance of the LTs but would it be worth it sound wise?

Yea eventually i would look more into FI, but seeing as my camaro isnt a year old yet and im only 18 that wouldnt be tooo soon lol, and im sure either route i went i can just pickup a pair of LTs if i went with a SC. TTs or just a single turbo seems the more likely route for me tho. My main wonder is just the sound of the Shorties paired with HFCs and the DTS. I want to be satisfied the first time, hah but dont we all?? Might just have to test it out seeing that i cant find any of the same setups
