Spark plug tech. A couple good reads

OK, hopefully I can post this without it being deleted. There is some pretty good tech in these articles.

I really wouldn't worry about something being to "tech heavy" for any forum. There are always technicians on these forums who will find articles like these interesting and informative. They will use them to add to their arsenals of information.

I would never be afraid of posting something thinking it might be too tech heavy for people. There will always be people on forums who really take something away from things like this.

MikeOD noted the sarcasm.

PS, I was looking to stimulate some technical discussion concerning spark plug tech, as the last thread was abruptly closed when real technical questions started being asked.

I thought maybe people would be interested in what heat range to run when, why the OEs use the plugs they do, etc.

I'm sure I will have questions after I read the articles. I am going to pass them on to another fellow I know as well.

I'm sure he too, will have questions which I can post too.

I've read these articles over the years. Good stuff in plain English. More substance than hype for sure. Thanks for sharing. Not sure how sharing tech articles is worthy of getting your account suspended. I would hope the mods and owners of this board would welcome things like this.

In most threads that I have read that touched on spark plugs, its seemed that the consencious was to just stay with the stock plugs. I always thought that iridum plugs were better, but I have not read on here anyone saying to use them, especially if you were tuned.
It was also the same with plug wires.
