I am 6'8" and drove a 1LT yesterday, and while it would take some getting use to it was still very comforable.

I was surprised by how much vertical seat travel the new Camaro has. The first time I sat in one was just for about 30 seconds and I didn't play with the seat controls at all. I was concerned that the Camaro would be tight and I'm 5' 11.

The second time I sat in one I played with the controls and found that the seat drops a lot from it's highest setting. I would guess it lowers between 3- 4 inches, maybe more.

I'll second the advice to try adjusting the seat. I'm only 5-8 but I like sitting upright and a little higher than most, so headroom was tight for me. If you can get comfortable in another seating position, you might be able to work it out. If not, I think the G8 is just the right car for you my friend.

I would go ahead and get yourself the Challenger in this case. Even 1/2 and inch from the roof is too close for comfort if you hit a bump on the road..

i sat in a 2010 mustang today, i am 6 1, and there was a good 4 or 5 inches above my head, i know its no camaro, but just a suggestion...

make sure to check all the seat possibilities of seat adjustments in the camaro before anything else though

That is some good advice. There is wicked front seat and headroom in the Challenger.

Yeah but the Challenger has the dynamic potential of a fully loaded oil tanker. There are better options if you want a good car with more room.

If you sit in a ss2 or ss1 you will not have that problem because the drivers seat is a 4way so you can lower the seat almost to the floor.

I'm 6'3" amd I sat in the first prototype with roof .....I had just enough .....about an inch.......so I ordered mine wihtout sun ! The sunroof takes a couple of inches away..... You must have a long upper body man!

I am 6' 4" and have more room in the power seat version of the 2SS Camaro.

At 6'2", I've been also very concerned about headroom. I sat on a 2LT with sunroof and my head touched the ceiling (yes, of course I put the sit all the way down and back) I guess if I tilted the seat back eventually my head would have room but I'd like the car to drive it not to sleep in it.
So I was also very dissapointed to see that the car is actually made for average to short people -and not very big either.
I did a headroom comparo without sunroof on all the three pony car (coupes) and these are the numbers:
Challenger: 39.3"
Mustang: 38.5"
Camaro: 37.4"
Is sad but numbers speak for themselves.

If it's a problem then drive a truck, suv or crossover.

Sports coupe with low drag are sleek and have a low roof.

Period...

Some people at Gm wanted it lower even but the crew down under held to a standard.

I have about 1 inch headroom in my vette and I just deal with it. Comes with the turf.

This car has like 5-6 inches more headroom than that.

the lower they make it, the more sales they will lose.
its a very good thing its not lower than it is.
no one sits in a car, and says "YES! this is just what i want, i can feel the roof touching my head!"
but people do comment on how much room they have between the roof and their head.
