Someone suggested SS376.

Even that would be better than just "SS."

377 is a 302/327/350 (stock 4.000" bore) with a 400-sized (3.750" stroke) crank...aka 383 if bored .030-over.

An LS-series 6.2L is 376...

The last 30 days have been too busy, but almost all good. Tonight I am having my own taste of Chicago with Geno's East flown into Texas. I think that calls for at least a couple of Sam Adams and then Grappa or Slivovitz and a good cigar.

Number 3, I'm with you on this one! Call it what they will, I really like the idea of a V8 RWD sedan.

I'm much more ok with the "SS sedan" nameplate than destroying my beloved Chevelle name on that car.

Please tell me you are adopting the Sox as your Chicago baseball TEAM. If you choose the Cubs I won't be able to talk to you any longer

In Chicago sports the pecking orders is

1. BEARS
2. Notre Dame Football (they may drop from the #3 spot if they don't improve in the next decade or two)
3. Bulls
4. Hawks
5. Sox

cubs

Chicago has been a football city since Halas brought the Staley's up from Decatur and renamed them the Chicago BEARS. The Hawks were #2 back in the 50 and 60's even though they were a farm TEAM to the Red Wings. Then Bobby Hull went to Winnipeg and broke our hearts Wirtz kept them off TV and they slide into the background. Baseball is is a tradition as are Chicago politics and corruption. Shoeless Joe should never have been banned and the old Comiskey Park was far better than the sterile place they play in now.

Moose Skowron, Gary Peters, Bill Melton, Wilbur Wood, Minnie, Dick Allen, Fisk... and of course who can forget Bill Veeck as the owner. We used to go to the park to watch Dick Allen take batting practice and break seat backs in left field. The shower for hot days in center field. Disco Demolition. The Bulls and Hawks have had some great TEAMS over the years, but nothing compares to Chicago's love of BEARS football.

The BEARS invented linebackers going back to Bronko Nagurski, Bull Dog Turner, George Connor, Bill George, Butkus, Singletary and Urlacher. They also invented running backs going back to Red Grange, Bronko Nagurski, Beattie Feathers, Rick Casares, Sayers and Payton.

How Chicago are the BEARS? Ed O'Bradovich attended a wedding at our church. A guest spilled a drink on his female companion. A one sided dust-up ensued. The recipient of his displeasure called the police. The police asked OB what had happened. He said this man spilled a drink on his girl and refused to apologize so I hit him. The officer said he understood, but why did OB hit him a second time? OB replied "I was was trying to break his fall." The cop laughed. OB autographed something for the guy he nailed and that was the end of it. I was just a kid in awe of OB and the BEARS , but that is how I remember the wedding and how I will think of Chicago.

George Halas was born in Chicago, attended the University of Illinois, founded the NFL and named them the BEARS because the Cubs allowed them to play games at Wrigley field. Though the Cubs have been LOSERS for over 100 years they did make a positive contribution to Chicago sports

Butkus was born in Chicago, attended Chicago Vocational HS, the University of Illinois and then joined the Chicago BEARS.

I was at the FOG Bowl in 88. The night before I was at the Baja Beach Club on the river. It was a multi-floor meat market. I was on the third floor trying to talk to my buddies. The other people in the bar were making too much noise for my taste so I got up on a chair and yelled -- Shut the *&^# up! The area around us got quite. A very atractive women comes up to me and says -- you must be a BEARS fan. I am I said. Here I want you to have these. She hands me two tickets to the playoff game the next day and walks away in tears. I walk over to her and an older guy and ask what the deal is. She is the wife of an Eagles player, the older guy is her father and they are headed back home on a red eye for a family emergency. She wanted to give the tickets to a fan before she left. So due to my foul mouth, bad temper and her misfortune I watched the FOG Bowl in the family and friends Eagles section. It was awesome.

Go BEARS!

I have to ask. If these 4 door Chevelles didn't destroy the name plate...

how would using the name Chevelle on a Chevy that performs as well as the current SS Camaro and most likely will perform better than past Chevelles destroy the name?

I wonder what Smokey would say about this one?

It is killing me The above NASCAR SS does not need lowering
