Feedback for the Camaro Salesman

Today I got a call from the salesman who sold me my Camaro. He wanted to make sure I was "Completely Satisfied" before I sent in my dealer satisfaction survey to Chevy.

I thought it might be interesting for members to post feedback about what their salesman could have done better or different.

Overall, my salespeople was very good. My only complaint was I spoke to two different sales people and neither of them explained what the different trims were or what packages were out there.

I test drove a 1LT and a 2LT and figured those were my choices.

I wish the salesperson had mentioned I could get the RS package in a 1LT, because I would have bought that. Instead I bought the basic 1LT package.

I mentioned this to my sales guy today and he said that was a good point and he would mention the trims and packages to future customers.

I dont think the salesman that sold me the car knew what "trim package" I bought it took me signing onto this site and posting a picture for me to find out. In truth I even asked him- he said LT nothing more.

15 minutes on here someone spotted it was the xm appearance package

Most guys go to the Chevy Build Your Own Site and do their homework before they even step in the showroom.

My experience was reasonably typical
Got porked on my trade in and decent price on my 2lt rs
It was one of the first and only black ones in the area with out sunroof and with spare
So I went for it
Only complaint is when I said I don't want any of the crap added on and sure enough they sent me to the crap add on finance lady
Fries with that?

I had to explain to mine that the smaller lights below the headlights act as daytime running lights for the RS package, and cannot be turned on at night. He was absolutely amazed! This camaro forum has proven to be a goldmine of knowledge.

Yeah, If I would have lurked this site for a few months like others I could have gotten a much better deal on my car IMO.

I am kind of glad i didn't to be honest because i probably would have got a different car, without saying the reasons, I am extremely happy with mine. So far in three months I havent seen one like it, no matter where i am driving it to.

I had to explain the difference in 1ss and 2ss/rs package. He didn't know much about the car at all. It actually took three different sales guys to write up what I wanted, so they could go on line and find it. I should have asked for a job there.

I tired to return mine today for an inferno orange 2SS/RS after owning my 1SS for 2 weeks. All they would do is take my 1SS with 700 miles on it in trade. I lol'd....

The sales guy told me my 1SS would have the USB/AUX port in the center console, all I ever found was a AUX port.

I knew exactly what I wanted when I walked on the lot (it was a CPO used car and I thoroughly researched it). The salesman handed me the keys and said see you later. I test drove (with SWMBO), and returned half hour later. I said, "I like it, lets talk money". The price was already $1000 below blue book. I offered another thousand lower and he met me half way. Must have been his easiest sale of the month.

Now the finance guy was a schyster, plain and simple.

Got mine through my credit union auto-buying service...did all my research on the build your own web-site...didn't even know or care who the dealer was, never went there...lol....Got a ton of calls on how to fill out the survey, and was I happy, etc., etc.

After I did all my research, I went to a couple of lots to look at the cars, acted like I was a serious buyer...lol...One salesman flat out told me I could not get the RS package in an SS model, that they were two different cars...lol...Another one told me there were no manuals available, that I would have to wait and pay more for a manual...Another that all SS's come with sun-roofs, standard...lol...Glad I wasn't planning on learning about the car from a salesman...I think everbody should order their car how they want it,yes, and wait a while, and not buy anything sitting on the lot...
