Question.
Okay so today I was driving my 2LT/RS M6 at a local camaro meet. We were stopped on the side of the road and when we took off I started in first as normal with a medium acceleration to about 4500 rpms. When I went to shift I pushed the clutch to the ground like normal and threw the shifter second faster than normal but when I went into second I got a loud grind out of second. After that it went into every gear fine and I don't have any problems driving after.
My question is what caused it? Could it be that I released the clutch a little to quickly or to soon? Or just that infamous second gear grind these trans are known for? Hoping I didnt do anything to my car though I shouldn't have since this has only happened once. Oh and I have just over 4100 miles. And one more thing the car and transmission were already hot they had been working for a while before that grind happened.

Probably just driver error, anyone thats never scratched a gear is a Liar.

also, there's gear grinding sometimes on manual v6 and v8. Very well known issue, but doesn't seem to hurt the car because it happens infrequently.
Maybe 10 -15 years from now, you might see something, but not for the foreseeable future P.S. I've probably done what you said around 10 times or so |

Well I'm glad to report that it was a driver error
took the camaro out for a 20 mile drive ad found no issues at all. Tried to replicate the incident and I couldn't. So that only means I pulled the clutch out to soon yesterday. Looks like the guys of C5 were right again |
