New to Camaro5, anyway just purchased a used 2010 2SS L99. Im not sure what type of gas had been used before I got the car. I have used nothing but 93 oct. Yesterday me and a buddy found a nice newly paved road to do a timed 0 to 60 run. It was about 90 degrees and the humidity was around 45%, the car had been setting so it was cool. I got a 5.9 0 to 60 manually shifting it in comp mode. Should I try the fuse pull? Or does this 0 to 60 sound about right? Im sure I could get it faster but I didnt want to run the car too hard. Thanks for the info! Also I have been getting the vibration at 70-80 mph just driving normaly, it doesnt happen all the time, does anyone else get this vibration? Should I take it in to the dealer for this?

Pull the fuses, it won't hurt anything. As far as the vibration goes if it comes and goes at the same speed I have no idea. If it's only under braking then it could be rotors. If it's only on acceleration could be drive shaft. Probably just balance on the wheels. Maybe wore tires from alignment issues? Lots of things it could be. |

Thanks Ill fill up when I get off work and do the fuse pull. We were using a stop watch ap on his smart phone, I would count to 3 then floor it and he would start the timer. I was just happy it wasnt in the 7 sec range. As far as the vibration it happens while just normally driving on the interstate around the 70-80 mph range comes and goes. Thanks again!

5.9 seconds is what the V6s do. I believe the magazines got around 4.6 - 4.7 with the SS. Supposedly putting it in sport mode (M) and letting the computer do the shifting will give you the fastest time.

Just got in from work, letting the engine bay cool a bit then im gonna pull the fuses. Im hoping this hot humid Mississippi air is slowing me down and not the dreaded L99 problem. I've also been making a record of my 0-60 times along with the temp and humidity of the day and time of day, i'll post what I have recorded so far in a bit. Also does anyone have any suggestions for a programmer? As of now im very interested in the Vector Motorsports tune.

Even in the heat and humidity you should be faster than 5.9 to 60. |

Well, I ran my tank down to 1/4 tank on the 89 and filled it with 93. Ran that tank down to 1/4 tank and filled it up with 93. Pulled the fuses but they were only out 2 1/2 hrs (thought we weren't going to leave till later). It was hot so I had the A/C on for the wife's comfort, taking off (LS3) felt smoother, did not feel the hesitation that I have felt before like it starts to fall on it's face then takes off. Drove it to work this morning with A/C off, did not have an opportunity to get on it too much to or from work, but it felt smoother all the way around. I did not do any 0-60 times so I can't use that as a measure, but I check mileage when I fill up (why I don't know) so I can compare that. At this point, my vote is for "yes it makes a difference"!

Put the fuses back in and I couldn't really tell a difference. I believe my car may be fine as far as the computer correctly reading from the higher oct tables. With a little more practice launching, I think I can get the 0 to 60 times to the 5 sec mark. The car feels fast and nimble and torquy, I figured it couldnt hurt to try this trick though. Mods will come soon, probably start with exhaust and intake then have Vector Motor Sports give me a tune to compliment those upgrades. Thanks for the help PQ!
