Mackenzie - That looks like a good alternative.

Yeah I can see the going way far out of town to do that, but that's mainly for the traffic avoidance. If we can just bypass the Expo Center in Louisville we should be ok going through Louisville and over the main bridge. That's where the Louisville car show is. Traffic shouldn't be that bad unless we pass right through there because I think that's the first day of the carshow. My dad goes every year and he said there shouldn't be much traffic ... but I think we should try to avoid it just incase. Maybe there's a short detour we could take around the expo center.

the only thing is that if the construction is as bad as they say it is in Louisville, we are all going to have to take the bypass or risk being stuck in single file line traffic going over the main bridge. I dont think the Expo Center traffic will be that bad during the middle of the week anyway.

This is the reason why we were opting for the western bridge rather than main bridge from Louiseville and follow above recomended route. |

I like it a lot Diane, this is the one you emailed to us. It has an extra stop for us......., but for some I think an extra stop will be greatly appreciated. We can just meet up with the Louisville area guys in Sellersburg, In. Last edited by Dexcam1; 07-23-2012 at 02:09 PM. |

Just an update they opened 2 lanes going N on I-65 and all the exits that had been delayed this morning, so it should be getting better by then, they eventually will be switching to the other side, so it may now come more into play going home that going to Indy at this point, and I am sure no one will care going that direction
![]() I meant no offense against the Sellersburg location, just found it a bit interesting that in all of the Lou metro area you picked that! Actually works better for me, I can cross into Indiana at Madison, and miss Louisville all together. What ever works for everyone else is all good for me! Oh, and that map above, to go 264W around the city, that time of day, maybe 10-15 min to IN then maybe 5 back over to 65 on 265, looks much bigger on the map than it really is! I have one suggestion for your stop in Bowling Green. The Sonic has a tiny parking lot and is will be hard to keep everyone together as you leave. I would recommend the Kroger parking lot on Scottsville Rd. or the Corvette Museum.
Kroger (Exti 22 same as Sonic) parking lot is large enough and had fuel pumps. There are also 2 other gas stations, Racetrack and Marathon between Kroger and I65. This exit also has construction but I doubt it will cause any issues. https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&i...2&ved=0CHoQtgM The Marathon is at the corner of Scottsville Rd and Three Springs Rd. And the Racetrack is a light down from it. Corvette Museum (Exit28) parking lot is large enough and easy access to I65. There is only 1 gas station convenient, Shell but they have a 8-10 pumps. https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&i...2&ved=0CHoQtgM The Shell is at the corner of Duntov Way and Corvette Dr. I will be leaving on Wednesday but hope this info helps your group. I will let you guy know what the trip through Louisville (the Texas Camarovans route) is like after we get through on Wednesday. Quote:

Didn't one of our members ruin his shocks driving through the construction in Louisville? I remember someone saying that at the Music City Chevy Show.

I hope I can listen to the majority of the Zello conversations on Wednesday so I can hear if they run into any trouble - but I'll be at work so we will see what happens. If anyone else can do this, that'd be great to help with any quick changes for construction or anything.

The KY Expo center is at the KY State Fairgrounds, located on the NW side the I-65 and I-264 interchange (across the HWY from Louisville international airport) So either way you will have to pass thru that area.
Just my opinion, being from Louisville, the 264 W bypass route avoids Downtown Louisville all together and would be better to keep a large group together and to avoid even the normal downtown traffic, but just my 2 cents. And also, keep in mind Louisville is not like Nashville or Indy, we are no where near as big, we just think we are

![]() I'd hate for the east side KY folks to have to come too far west. I'm thinking meeting at Sellersburg will be best for us all?????????

I agree for the Sellersburg. It makes me not go too far west then come back east. I (Megatron & KY.Camaro) Can meet you there and any other people coming from Lexington, Richmond, Central KY area.
We are in crunch time Once you get the final map I'll email everyone and let them know just incase they aren't following this thread. Thanks everyone for your huge participation in making this as smooth as possible, espically DianeOkie.
