When one city has more Camaro owners than any other city and that city has 2 million people there is a good chance that more Camaro owners will attend the FEST and bring a friend.

This is about Camaro5 MEMBERS. That is what C5FEST is all about. While the drag and CamaroCross events get lots of attention, the real reason people come to the FEST is to see the people they talk to online, to see dear friends and to make new ones. All the racing stuff is small potatoes by comparison. Hosting the FEST in Texas would provide the C5FEST the largest base of members to build the event on.

There has been a great deal of discussion on where and when to hold the FEST since the 1st FEST. Sometimes the solution is so obvious, you can't see it. C5FEST is for the C5 Members. There are more C5 Members in Texas than any other state. I'll put a twist on follow the money. C5FEST should follow the members.
You were championing another fest in Indy. But if they decided not to go to Indy again you would want it in Texas. I think I just cracked a piece of the code. Its not going to be in Indy again. Hmmm

Soon? Ill go wherever. Make it longer than 2 days though.

It's reasonable people like you that make the fest so worth all the time and energy we put in to it.

Thanks for participating in this thread and your help in making our decision.

We'll be sure to take your opinion and selfless concern for the fest and all who attend into consideration as we move forward.

And I'd like to extend my personal gratitude to you for showing one of our major sponsors the respect and consideration he deserves for the time and money he invests in the fest for people like you. It means a lot to me that you can see the big picture and display such a sincere tone of gratefulness for those who bring the fest to you.

How's that for Oprah Winfrey....

I like the idea of CFest coming to Texas too....but I'll go wherever.

I'm too lazy to read every thread where suggestions are discussed for next year, but here's mine. When selecting the host hotels, make sure they will allow food trucks in the parking lot for us. It would be great to be hanging out with everyone and not have to worry about getting some GOOD food to eat each evening. Here in Houston, I could easily get three or four nice trucks out for an event of our size. Think of how much business one could have done in the parking lot in Indy.

Not taking any sides in the Texas vs. North Carolina debate but if you're going to have it you need to look at in the correct perspective.

The assumption that Texas has more Camaro owners than North Carolina is probably true but that is based soley on population of each state. To be fair, Texas is also a much larger state.

To compare Camaro ownership by state area size is fair as long as you compare by population density as well. If you were to compare an area of similar area proportion and size of Texas with east coast states you would cover North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio.

Texas Square miles = 268,581
Combined selected east coast states square miles = 285,220
(Fairly close in my opinion.)

Texas population = 25,145,561
Combined selected east coast states population = 46,236,761

From this perspective, having C5F4 in North Carolina totally makes sense since it is close to center of this population density.

That all said, I still believe that C5Fest should move around to accomadate each area of the country and not just use population density as the only factor.

I understand your argument....BUT....More population lives in the Eastern half of the US than any other area. Would it not make more since to have it where the majority of the people are?? I am sure you will find plenty of Camaros that are willing to travel to run on the worlds only 4-WIDE drag strip. That in itself worth the travel. Think about it.....4 lanes means a hell of a lot less waiting in line. And Z-Max is huge!! Plenty of room for Auto-Cross, ect.

That's why we went to indy this year. And ticket sales were down from AZ.

However there were more camaros and racers at Indy...

Population density is not as big a factor as we originally thought.

FWIW.
