When, i do the fuse pull, I engage my key to ignition. I figure this way the computor will notice the error and will reinstate the setting once the fuses are back.

I read to pull the fuses and leave them out overnight. Which equated to 9 hours for me. The fuse pull worked great for me!

SO, I did it again last saturday while I was washing the car, Unplug them for 3Hours 10 minutes, it worked.

I suggest the next person that remove them, should try it for less then 2½ hours, and then the next one for less then 2hrs...until we get this figured out.

Read back through the posts, I am pretty sure my fuse pull was less than 2 hrs, and I noticed a difference.

Not really having to many issues myself, but thought I would try this anyway. Pulled the fuses for about 4 hours, no reason for that lenght of time. Kind of just forgot about it. It wasnt a real oh my god differance. Did notice just improved throttle response though.

I fully understand why the timing is adjusted when the car senses low octane fuel. What I don't understand is why a fuse pull is the only way to get back to the high octane tables. Isn't that a bit ridiculous ? I would consider that a software bug.

What's even more ridiculous is GM has known about this for 3-4 years now and offers no remedy or acknowledgement of it being a problem...guess we're just supposed to be happy with mediocre engine performance and waste our money on premium from time to time...

Not their problem to worry about, most schmucks who buy cars don't know the difference to make it worthwhile for GM to "fix"...

I really doubt it is. I think the fuse pull is a short cut.

Also keep in mind the fuse pull takes you all the way back to the high octane map and even on 93 it will learn back down some (not as much as 87). It feels great when you first pull it but your car is pulling timing so its temporary.

I think this was posted a while back, but there actually is a TSB for this, so GM is aware it's a problem. I just don't think they released any official solution for it, or a way to prevent it from happening in the first place.

Interesting...but in the "big picture" I think it's a little weak...lol...Only comes into play if the customer complains about his 0-60 times, and it's somehow recorded...lol...and I think the tsb was from '09, with a fuse 13 and 20 pull, not 5 and 20...Pretty sad if that's all they've addressed since then....

Thanks for finding that...very informative.
