Alright, so I'm back. I need some toilet paper to clean my drawers after riding in the SS. I can definitely feel and hear the difference. The SS is a badass car when driven with a purpose, and I've not experienced an equal. I was unprepared for just how powerful it really was.
That said, I won't be driving it like that. We took out a 2LT, and it didn't have the rumble of the v8 but god damn did it put my existing v6 2004 Taurus 4 speed automatic to shame. I was not afraid of cornering and at 80 mph I didn't feel like I was going to lift off the ground and lose control of the car. It didn't quite put my ass against the seat like the ss did but I could feel the acceleration when I stepped on it during the highway portion. I might sound kind of like a ***** for saying this but damn that ss might have been too much car for me. Not in a tail between my legs kind of way, but a general commute way. We got up to 80ish just on an open street. The speed limit was 45 there! I NEVER drive like that. Cool to know it can do that, but I'll never need that much power. I just wish the v6 sounded th same... Thanks for all your thoughtful replies. Now it's time to shop for color and availability. PS: the HUD did sort of underwhelm me. I had higher expectations. It's definitely cool, and I'm getting it because I'm getting the 2LT for the heated leather seats and USB, but I just thought it would "look different", and not be just a mirror thing. I thought it was sort of integrated inside the windshield, like someone outside could see it. You have to be at the correct angle |
