My first car was a 69 Camaro

Oh yea...back in the day (1982) when I was broke, 17 years old and a newly wed. Our first car was a 1969 Camaro that was financed for me by a friend's father. $1500.00.

Kept it for about 10 years but never had the money to restore it. The camaro is gone, but I still have the wife! Anyone care to guess what she's getting for her birthday next April!

My first car . . . has yet to be bought. I'm thinking a ~2001 Grand Am this summer, still open to suggestions here http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread...ht=suggestions. Will update you guys here when I actually have a first car. The closest thing that I have right now is my parents Saturn that I drive - 1997 SL2 Gold Edition. Its holding up well, never had a major thing go wrong with it. It gets me from point A to point B when I need a car, it won't win any races but it moves well considering that it was rated at 124 hp.

My first ride was a 1987 Ford Escort. God I hated that car. I had that thing for about two years before I cracked its head. (The thing overheated and the temp. gauge/light didn't work).

1969 Chevy Camaro, 350 V8, Muncie 4-speed. Bought it around 1974 with blown motor for $600. Rebuilt motor, but wrapped it around a tree dirt tracking it before I even got my driver's license.

My condolances. My grandfather had several Escorts until he got a Focus instead. I can not understand the mans taste in cars. Every single one of the Escorts where peices of crap and the Focus isn't much better. Then again my other grandfather sold his nice old solid Volvo for a new Skoda....
