Well for the 4th time its back at the dealer. Really have no confidence at this point, it's so disappointing!

13K miles, 16 months old and in a 4th time for an oil leak!

So I got the car back last night, and they once again (third time) resealed the timing chain cover. They are claiming they “believe” the last tech did not torque the bolts properly! WHAT?!?!? I really don't believe this but what can I say?

So here is what has been done so far:
1- Resealed timing chain cover
2- Replaced and resealed timing chain cover
3- Resealed oil pain gasket
4 (latest attempt)- resealed timing chain cover.

4 oil leaks in 3 month is beyond unacceptable, oh and did I mention the car only has 13K miles and is 16 months old.

I have a case in with GM as I am beyond pissed with this and sorry to say have no faith in this car anymore, I really hope GM steps upt to the plate on this. Sad to say but I am truly considering selling the car and moving to a competitor.

Have you taken your Camaro to a dealership for a diagnosis? We are here if you have any questions or concerns.

Nothing much to report. GM has been in contact with me, I am expecting to hear from them again later today.

I've only driven about 200 miles since the last fix, and so far there is nothing on the ground but it would be too soon for that anyway. I plan to put it up on ramps tomorrow to see it I see anything out of the ordinary.

I'm not very happy with the handling of this overall by GM, looks like I may be moving to a competitor in the very near future! Sad but all these issues have really made me lose interest in this car. Trying to stay positive but it's not working.

I understand your frustration with multiple oil leaks as I've lived that same nightmare. All I can say about the other comptetitors is, look at their forum pages first. At my home, we have a Challenger and a Mustang. Both come with their own issues.

I guess the moral of the story is that the grass is greener where you water it, not always on the other side.

At this point it is not leaking again, but I've only driven about 400 miles. What I am disappointed with is the handling by GM corp., they are basically sweeping the issue under the rug.

As for competitors having issues, I get that and I hope I can get beyond this and stick with the car I love. But I just have such a bitter taste in my mouth I am not sure what to do.

I have so many plans for my car but have totally stopped modding because I am unsure at this point I will have the car.

I am so sorry you feel that way based on your current situation. General Motors takes comments like this very seriously, and I have documented your concern along with your comments. GM relies heavily on its loyal customers such as you and we are continually documenting concerns, such as these, in our database, so that may departments of GM can access them and make adjustments accordingly.

Curious.

I've gone through the same pains as the OP and you said the same thing to me. However, if you ask any dealer, no one has ever heard about these cars leaking oil even though there are countless threads here on the subject. Is there an explanation for that?

I understand that you're here to assist but it's frustrating hearing the same things over and over like a broken record yet the actual actions of GM are the exact opposite of what you post in every thread on this forum.
