Padre SS proved the JBA shorties and catted mids work well with his 620rwhp with his auto car and running 10's all day.

First off. I had Solo's on my car for a while... even wrote up a DIY for this site. I was entertaining the idea of shorties just because the stock manifold mates to the HFC midpipes so terrible. I only said what I said because these threads end up being confusing to newbies when it's NOT complicated at all. I bought mine because the warranty (which I shall keep) is built into the price of the car... might as well use it. Just my opinion though.

Not if you do it from the beginning (which is why I think these people chime in.. to prevent a possible mistake). LTs are probably cheaper overall if you go with the Solo midpipes. Maybe some people are needling you guys, maybe it's just a hurried oversight. You all ought to treat your fellow camaro owners with a little more respect.

Yeah I hear ya. I'm a little jealous. I'd love to stroke mine, but alas... it'll be a long while before anything like that happens. I was very happy with the performance gains from the Solo midpipes. They just never felt installed well to me. I figured some standard-flange shorties would solve my OCD.
Fortunately for me... if they went CARB in Kansas... half the population would be in violation immediately. I can't imagine the nightmare that would be to implement. Out of curiosity, and completely off subject, but how does CA handle classic cars? Do you just not have to do inspections on old cars?

My solos didn't mate up any better to My BBK shorties, especially on the passenger side. They were actually more of a pain to install due to the bolt clearance..

Damn!!!...getting crazy so far I like the sound and added power but after a hard down shift and flooring it I got a cel..Tunning will happen this week and Ca. Legal....I rode in a Long tube car with HFC to freicking Loud for me.Plus I will be happy with the performance for now after the tune. But hey some like the Long tubes but I dont want to take them off just to smog...I make up for less power with driving skill...

I also agree with you about loudness. I took my Solo's off for exactly that reason. Once I did the muffler delete, the Solo's pushed my car to the level of obnoxious. Let me clarify that... It's my DD. I like my neighbors. I'm not a dick... well not usually anyways
