Firebreed - you already have your car out here? I remember I had to wait in a rental Focus almost three weeks before my car caught up to me, and that was with three weeks of leave in-between!

Good morning all. I wad wondering if anyone on this thread had the LED sidemarkers on their car. I do and have had them for about 2 1/2 years. Never had a problem (the colors are legal) until this morning. If anyone does have let me know if you have been questioned about them. I have even been pulled over a few times and those officers never once questioned me.

What was the problem you had? Curious because I've got a set of ghosted LED markers coming...

Not sure i understand the question. I have had the Oracle LED sidemarkers since 2010 but I hardly drive my car. They seem to work fine. Sounds like you are asking if anyone was ticketed for them? I can't imagine getting pulled over for that.

Ok, this morning I was on my way to work. I stopped at the 7-11 in Waipahu. There were 2 hpd there, soon as i got out of my car one called me to him and asked if the lights were stock. I told him no. He said you better replace them. I tried to explain that they are legal (front amber, rear red). He didn't want to listen at all. I have had these lights for 2 1/2 years. I actually trained with hpd as a Dare officer and they all saw them. I have occasionally gone to the hpd academy building for conferences for work.

I have never had an issue with any officer except this guy. In the mean time I did get official spectrum tests and all from another member that went through the same thing in California. So i will have that in my glovebox from now on. Hopefully I explained it better. By the way he did see my color shift halo's that were on (amber color) and said they were fine. So I feel it boils down to just screwing with me.

that's what it sounds like...i can't imagine any other reason, especially if he didn't say anything about your halos.

They are supposed to be reflective when off. Most vehicles have wraparound tails and corner markers for that reason. So technically he is correct. However, he was effing with you since the were probably on and he couldn't tell wether they were reflective or not. And if the only thing he can do is nitpick side marker lights, he is way too bored and needs to find something better to do with his time!
