Yeah, these threads make me sad. 36, no tickets or accidents, paying about 2k per year through USAA. The only advantage to living in MI seems to be that I dont have to put on a front plate

As stated earlier - there are so many variables that it's impossible to compare oranges to oranges. Zip code, age, credit rating, home discount, multi-car discount, good grade discount, coverage amounts, deductible, driving record, mileage to/from work, male/female, how much do you weigh, etc. OK the last one's not real.
The only thing in common here is Camaro... I try to compare coverage w/ other companies every two years. Some recommend you do it every year but that's a hassle. I've seen some folks who've stuck with their insurance carrier and never thought about changing & they're getting ripped off. |

Wow. Awesome info. I'm 31 - male - married, no tickets, no accidents. Looks like my rates might be high compared to others that fit the same criteria. The insurance companies always rape the younger drivers (under 30), and it looks like they are paying more than me. But the majority of the older drivers seem to have lower rates (and better coverage). Thanks to all who posted! Time to go XMAS shopping....for insurance....

$65 a month for huge coverage. Nationwide supposedly doesn't offer a "maximum coverage" rating, but I have what basically fits that description. $500 deductible.

$160/month - 23/M with no prior record. I'm the only/primary driver on my car. It does have some discounts though such as laser etched glass, good student discount (can't believe a C-average from high school was 'good studen't, LOL) and multi-car because everyone at my residence (including the house itself) has insurance though the same company.
Rates in Louisiana are sky high however. My 2005 Silverado was even higher.

Just a suggestion. Call you insurance company and tell them you need to shop around. They have a multitude of plans. We have Allstate and after we did some research and called them they lowers our two cars over $600 a year. Same coverages.

I don't have insurance.. it's a waste of money for a perfect driver like me.

And you MUST raise your coverage any lawyer will say the same.. IMO 300/100 should be minimum. I was joking about the first comment though.. Male 23 - married. 2 cars and about 2k for 2 people for a year. It would have been $960 a Year for just me on the Camaro but Ohio law made me put my wifes driving record on it.. lol.300k/100k and 250 deductible btw. |
