Clutch knocking sound

Okay so i was going threw the drive thru at mcdonalds today and had my window down and have never heard this noise before. I was in 1st gear had my rpms at about 800 and slowly letting the clutch out, got about half way out so my car was inching forward and then while still holding my foot on the gas lightly i pushed the clutch in quickly and heard a weird like knocking sound, not sure how to explain the sound but it knocked 3 times or so, kinda sounds like when you grab a drive shaft and spin it counter clockwise and clockwise to check if there is much play in the differential and how it makes a clunk or knock sound because itll only let you spin the shaft so far while the vehicle is in park. Sounds like that kind of clunk/knock but did it like 2-3 times... idk my buddy said im just paranoid, and that its probably because im disengaging the clutch while the gas is still being held onto.. Any answers or hints as to what i should check for this noise would be appreciated. Thanks

Gulp... I just got back from McDonalds (was craving since I haven't had it in months) and I went through the drivethru. Luckily I have an auto!

My 2011 SS makes this noise too if I'm driving slow and I push the clutch in fast. There are other discussions of this same noise on this site too. It is normal...I believe it is just the driveshaft/u-joints knocking from the sudden disengagement from the engine.

What do you mean the dealer will print me a copy? I also noticed tonight no matter how fast im going when I disengage the clutch in first gear I get a single clunk that sounds like its coming from the rear differential area

I hear 2 noises that sound like knocking. The first it sounds like someone is knocking on the inside of the trunk. Only happens when it's really cold and only when I'm stopped. Second noise sound like its coming from passenger side but only when I'm coming to a stop and if I have someone else with me. Apparently it's normal

I would recommend taking your vehicle to a dealership for a proper diagnosis as they are the experts. Please let us know what you decide to do.
