OK, I haven't seen it in person, but in pictures, the rear looks like a Mercedes or a Buick more than a Camaro. I'm not saying those are bad things, mind you, Fen. Its just impossible to improve on the perfection that is Camaro5 V1, at least to my taste. I know things have to be refreshed now and again. The less angular rear and the taillights are the only parts I'm wrinkling my nose over. I'm sure the aftermarket companies will address the taillights at least, since there is considerable debate concerning them. Where there is a market, they will go.

BTW, when should I be expecting the '14 ZL1 news?

I found it interesting that they announced the weight reduction from the ZL1 no the SS.

300 pound reduction from a car that gained a bunch of weight for supercharger and intercooler not to mention MR shocks is marketing 101.

So what's the reduction from a 1SS? My guess is a nice solid 125 pounds. Does anyone remember how much the ZL1 bumped the weight?

So if this baby comes in at 3700 to 3750 that wouldn't be all bad. But that really means a car that remains 500 pounds more than a Z06. What would you do?

They said 100 less than an SS. SS 3,850. I thought the ZL1 was 4,080.

My guess is the lights look better in person. But that remains to be seen.
Number 3, with current regs for side marker lights, combined with the wraparound tails, were the rear sidemarkers necessary? Their disappearance would have cleaned things up a bit...

Otherwise, the tail lights' odd slashed angle now matches the black lower valance wraparound's angle...and later Gen-2s.

I have been missing you guys. It was just getting a little depressing for me, I was expecting to have my hot blue Z before now.

Maybe I should stop looking for "the job" and take "a job" at least for a while. Anything would pay for a stylin' ride since all the other bills are already covered.

I definitely have a mule-eatin'-sawbriars grin for all of the Z/28 faithful.

You ever see a mule eat sawbriars? They really turn on the smile.

At one point I recall a requirement or proposal that tail lights be visible from the side view. The Camaro today would not meet that. But I don't know if that ever became law. Actually the rear lights remind me a bit of the old 84 rear end.

I have no idea what a sawbriar is and am not inclinde to google it. Ok maybe I will. But still no idea what it is or how a mule would eat one.
