Exclamation CEL CODE P0017

Got a code looked online looks like to be the timing, when I'm driving my RPMs will fluctuate, and when i drive and turn the car on again it'll take a while to turn on kinda like its forcing..it also lost some power I can feel it when I'm driving, my MPG went down to 16MPG and its a v6 -_____- I can't even do any burnouts I'm guessing because of the lack of power lol
Any ideas of what It could be before I go buying a new chain and having a real expensive repair job to install it, Thanks!

Does sound like the timing chain is being stretched. 2010's and early 2011's have weak chains. Mine is a early 2011 but my chain is still good, but may also pay to have it replaced. How's your oil levels been?

Honestly I don't hear anything and I change my oil every 3,000 miles..

Sorry to hear about your concerns. That certainly sounds like a displeasing situation. If you ever consider a dealership visit, please let me know. I'd like to monitor the process and explore possible options on your behalf. Feel free to private message me anytime.

Your symptoms sound like the typical stretched chain, however they usually throw a few different codes... sure sounds like your chain have stretched, but it could be something else...

I assume you are over 100,000 miles?

Chains usually throw a P0008 code. Look up the code.

I have 40,000 miles I've replaced new cam positioning sensors so that's ruled out guessing it could be the chain I looked online and saw symptoms relating to that

Why not take it in? Should be covered under your power train warranty.
