I had stickers which blacked out the letters Camaro kinda of a happy medium. I never liked the bright chrome lettering. I like to no markings looks. It looks stealth. I'll see if I can find an old pic.

Here you go, if you don't want to remove this is a happy medium. Please excuse the "extra badges" on the hood. I removed them ages ago, it was a nood to my Buick t type, I miss that car she was amazing. I don't even have pics of her.

That's an idea that I've thought about.

I was thinking about that as well. I can get the CAMARO letters from the dealer and have them chromed black. It makes them look a lot darker but still shiny. Only problem is getting them to line back up perfectly straight. Definitely not a drinking task. I could also just paint them black chrome. Not sure how well they'll hold up to washing though.

On a side note. Damn we shut down the warranty thread didn't we. The almighty help desk strikes again.

I've been thinking about blacking out the tail light rings, the back bowtie, the taillights and the panel between them with that Vinyl wrap from Big Worm. What do you guys think? This color is such a PITA when it comes to this.

I definitely recommend blacking out the tail lights but mine are spray tinted. I put vinyl in my bowtie but left the chrome outside, and it looks great. I like a little chrome to break up all the black. Bezels need to be black or GONE. A few of us have taken them off completely and they look good. These were on black cars though. Lighter colored cars may not look as good. Never was a fan of the panel black out on the cars I've seen. I had mine blacked out from the factory.

Instead of dental floss (it kept breaking). I bought hanging wire, the thinnest you can find that had a coating, $4 at Home Depot. I tied it onto a wrench, both ends were closed, looked like a little mini bow. Was able to get some good leverage into it, made things a lot easier. They came off in seconds doing it that way. Rolling the adhesive off is the FUN part.

I used fishing line, that worked great.

Black is the new chrome ... Go for it. There are all kinds of black out kits out there. I think I had big worm stuff. Tail light bezels are easy to paint. Pop em out, spray em, put em pack in.

That was my first choice, sporting goods store is half hour away. Home Depot is 2 secs from my house and I got lucky with the wire I found, thin enough and had a smooth coating. I was planning on fishing wire.

I like the letters blacked out actually. I probably could have been convinced to do that instead of remove them had I seen it at the time.

Mine were stickers, the raised part of the lettering was still chrome, what they looked like depended on your angle, the picture makes it look better than they really looked. Painting them is probably the best way to go. Although putting them back on straight would not be fun.

Actually my side lettering is plasti-dipped as I had the same concern about putting them back on straight. No need to remove the lettering, just tape off around the letters (about 1/2 inch all around) and spay then peel. Plus easy enough to go back to OEM should I ever want. All others items on my car are painted.

See example here:

Are those letters painted? If so, how are they holding up to everyday washing.

NVM. You just answered that, lol.
