Let me start, my first zl1 had paint defects & panel alignment issues, my second one sounds like a diesel motor, sc replaced at 200 miles & a four wheel alignment needed to be done since the car pulled to the left.
..and in bold is the starting point for your premise. Everything has to be perfect because of that starting point, no?. Ain't gonna happen. Dorothy, you ain't in Kansas any more...<nothing against the great State of Kansas of course>.

Not a single issue B4 or after mods. This car is one tough SOB.

EPS Failure
Brake Reservoir leak

both repaired under warranty, all within 2000 miles and 9 months of ownership

Glad I don't have the 2 > 3 shift grind I had with my 10 SS

Love mine, no problems. The quality is very good for the money. I've owned cars that cost much more that don't stack up to the paint quality, panel fit, comfort, features, technology, and power.

I sold a Ferrari F430 the week before getting the ZL1 and haven't missed it 1 single day. I've had some very nice cars (Ford GT, Maserati GrandTursmio, F355, Z06, Elise, NSX,) and the ZL1 is one of the nicest I've owned. It makes me smile everytime I drive it.

You seem to have buyers remorse due to the many problems you have had. I suggest just selling it back to the dealer and moving on. One day you might want to give GM another try.

I've been in the same boat as you in the past. I had a 2001 Mercedes CLK500 that had black paint issues. I loved the car, but hated the way the hood was chipping so I got it fixed by MB and sold it. Since they were in high demand, I broke even and moved on. It took me 5 years before ever giving Mercedes another chance and when I did I was very happy. I bought an S550 and it was a great car.

I had a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was eating brake rotors. The dealer would replace them and 2 weeks later the steering wheel would rattle when applying the brakes. After 3 times I got Jeep to repurchase the car without going through the Lemon Law process. I got another Grand Cherokee and it was perfect for 60k miles!

I currently have a Fisker Karma and I'm not having any issues... but if I do, I'm screwed. That company won't even answer the phone. At least with the ZL1, you have a dealer network to help you out---I wish I had that option with the Karma.

So I think every car can have issues. You've had a run of bad luck, so it's probably time to call in a favor from your dealer and see if they can get GM to work with you on buying the car back so you can move on to something else. If they handle it right you should give GM another try once you feel better about things. Can't hurt to try.

Good luck!

Buyer remorse your right on that since I bought a car on July 5 and still don't have one in my garage! I get nothing is perfect I get it but two cars in a row. I've tried to get my money back several times even at the corporate level but no they would rather have an irate customer and force them to keep a car just so they can have more market share. IMO

Turned 18,000 miles today. Have had the ZL1 since early April 2012. My only "problems" are that the rear tires squeal and wear out faster than the front and there is an intermittent whining noise under the hood.

Just turned 10,000 miles tonight. The car runs great and has been trouble free since day one.

34000 miles, replaced supercharger for the bearing noise. Brake fluid leak at cap. The cap issue is the only one I think is GMs fault. Putting the clutch, which cycles a lot, and the brake together and then sticking a crappie cap on it was just stupid. But they do have a proper fix now, just need to get to dealer to get it done.

Flawless otherwise. No panels falling off or anything stupid.

Mine just didn't feel powerful enough when I bought it but I fixed that. It really has been a good car despite what I have put it through.
