Where can I get a tune?

Where an I get a custom tune done on my ss/rs? Im getting the magnaflow cat back system and from what Ive heard the AFM sounds pretty bad when you have upgraded exhaust, so I'd prefer to have it disabled in a tune, also heard a tune with give me etra 10-20 hp....any help with what exactly a tune is and how I can get one done? Thanks

There are several good choices here in Florida. Lashway , Redline, Torq, FSP , Tampa Tuning and many more. The first three are by far the closest to you.

Since you do not know what a tune is. It is a recalibration of your computer system to optimize it and help generate more power. Be aware since you probably do not know. It most likely will void your powertrain warranty if you care about that. If not. Then tune on and get a tranny tune also to really wake it up. Also, if you plan to tune. Personally I'd forget a catback and get some headers first or both. Catback is worth about 0 HP. Headers will get you a nice bump with a tune. If you don't have a CAI get that over a catback.

AFM will be annoying if you do not tune it out with aftermarket exhaust.

Since you are in SFL. Go to the Florida subsection and visit the TCC thread. Our club members will be happy to help direct you to any mods or shops in the area.

IMO, unless you have a L99, it's not worth the $$ to tune a completely stock car. A catback or axleback does not warrant a tune. Most CAI's don't warrant one either. If you have a L99, a good tranny tune is almost worth it alone.

You would be better off to go ahead and add headers and a good CAI to get the best bang for your buck from the tune. Much better performance gain that way and wiser use of your $$. Otherwise just wait until you are ready to do them together.
