Don't expect a 5th gen to ever get it.

I wish my camaro had it.
+1

Very well said. It's the minor things like this that stick out. I'd imagine the 6th Gen having a push button. We will have to wait and see.

Why the obsession with push button start? I can see when it was only on high end cars but its not any more.

Is it really more difficult to twist a key?

It's just a matter of parts logistics/supply chain and keyless start stuff being tasked for the camaro. Buttons are cheaper for Chev than locks....everything will be button start within a few years..one is not really better than the other...start stop coming soon too....

Dude. You could bruise a thumb that way. Besides, push start is worth 5 RWHP

Push button start with the smart key so you never have to use your keys ever again is a really nice feature. Don't knock it until you have had it.

Well, it is about a silly feature that shouldn't have been allowed to escape from the realm of video games . . .

But at least it's been moved to a section where actually driving the car isn't a main focus.

If this were the case maybe they did it for security reasons :]

I wish the GTO had push button start instead of keys that cant have the battery replaced and holes in them where the buttons should be as well as cylinder that fail and wont even let you unlock the steering wheel.

Push button start and key less doors will replace conventional setup on all cars. Cheaper to make and less moving parts. Most keys are transponders and simply a formality with the electronic security everyone uses, even locking steering wheel is going away.

I do like the VW style folding key the Camaro uses.
