Tool sizes for drive shaft?
Anybody know exactly what tool/type sizes for removal of the drive shaft to that rubber damper to output shaft? Dropping my tranny later. Need to know what size to get so I dont have to buy a thousand tools.. Looks like a torx bit and maybe a torx socket or something? Doesn't look like a 12 point will fit on one of the bolts reliably.
Thx!!

They're external torx bolts. Go to Sears and buy Craftsman new Universal wrenches. I paid $50 for a metric set and they're great to have around. They'll hold the bolts.

A 6 point fits well enough. I think they're only set to about 80 ft lbs. Can't remember what size.. Either 18 or 21 mm pretty sure.

Buy the correct, properly sized tool. If you have a Harbor Freight in your area, an entire set of the correct sockets will cost less than one wrench from Sears. I choose not to ever use 'universal' wrenches as there's too much chance of slippage that can/will mess up a fastener.
