One thing I noticed watching the ZL1 and Z/28 videos, down the long back stretch.. the Z/28 peaked at 160mph at 6000ish rpms. The ZL1 hit 172mph.

A cool overcast track is damp, or at least not as dry as the same track at the same temperature on the same day. It doesn't take much of a leap in logic to see the Z/28 exiting into both those straight at a higher speed. My guesstimate is easily 2 to 3 MPH, more likely 5 or 6 and possibly more. Where the ZL1 pulls the Z/28 by 12 MPH it can be cut to a 6 MPH difference. I wonder that lap time Adam Dean could lay down on a 65 degree sunny day when he could wear out tires? |

I noticed that too, but I'm pretty sure that he was holding back on that stretch due to the rain, unless the Z/28 is somehow limited to 160 mph. The LS7 peaks at 6300 rpm sotheres at least a few mph left in its top end.

I stop the ZR1 video, to concentrate just on the Z28 VS ZL1. That Z28 is a monster on the track, probably only limited on top speed compared to the ZL1. Now I want to see the Z28 VS the '14 Corvette Stingray Z51 at Nurburgring. I can wait!!!
