Does anyone know why they put the LS3 in the Manuel camaros and L99 in the Automatics? And what are the differences in the LS3 & L99 other than the 26HP? Just wandering if they stated why they didn't put same miter in both versions of SS?

the AFM (Active Fuel Management), DOD (Displacement On Demand) and VVT (Variable Valve Timing) in the L99 requires the use of an auto as it shuts down 4 cyls when cruising and when all 8 kick in it causes a slight jerk. however, utilizing an automatic, the converter and fluid in the trans absorb the force and the driver doesnt feel a thing. if they bolted up a manual trans to the L99, the switch from 4-8 cyl mode would be much more pronounced.
