Their last comment/opinion was that American cars are a long long way from competing with the European Supercars. Can only imagine the stink they're catching from viewers. Bet ya Clarkson from BBC Top Gear would disagree about the Corvette. He loves the ZR1 and I'd bet he thinks it's definitely a Supercar.

Which is all superfluous hyperbole coming from them to begin with! I watched the Pirelli racing series and it seemed to me the Stevenson Camaro won that championship? The World Challenge series was won by Cadillac! The Saleen S7 was built from the ground up IIRC?

The Saleen S7 is 100% a Supercar, I don't know how anyone could try to dispute that

The S7TT is one of the most incredible 'Merican cars ever made!

Because of all the things we might own (or at least lease), cars are the things we have the greatest emotional involvement with. A "label" helps establish where in the automotive continuum our cars fit in a general way, which helps identify both differences and things in common.

Nobody I know of does similar labeling for their house or the appliances and entertainment equipment inside.

...it's a car that can run in a class far higher than it's value, and compete amongst cars costing times over...but at the end of the day it's not a super car. But that is not a distraction from what it does. It's probably the most efficient bang for the buck high performance production vehicle ever built in my estimation, not withstanding Ford's product. Both are admirable performers, American made. Cat and mouse chase...

Well said, you definitely do get a lot for your money! And Chevy with the new Stingray starting 4K less than the ZL1, seems to be money well spent for high end performance. Happy to see Chevy and Ford competing for that "need for speed". I remember the days when it was "Made in the USA" but of course lawyers screwed that all up, now it has to be made 51% or more to have that USA Label. Although I gotta give credit to the corporate lawyers that greased the political palms so now even if its built in Mexico or Canada it can state "Made in America". Of course a decade later and more greasing of the palms that "Made in America" also includes South America. Just wouldn't of sounded right "Made in the Americas".
