We don't make any products, and we'd love to lend a hand for testing. Give me a call if you get some details hammered down. Do you have any idea if you'd like to keep this to one vehicle, just intakes, etc?

Their testing is so SPONSOR driven, it would be impossible for an unbiased result. Wait until you see the camshaft shoot out. The tester was highly restricted to use ONLY paid advertisers during the run off... Arrange for a Ford based dyno shop that has no interest in the result, test this. There are tons of Ford-only shops around here so I know one of them could do the test without the bias...

I agree and when you are talking about parts that are worth no more than 10-12 rw hp, heat soak in between runs and dyno pulls can be a greater variation.

I personally think the Late Model Racecraft setup is the best I've see so far. Would love to see what the gains are on the available ones. Good luck to you! Sounds like you are ready to back up your product.

I like Ed's Idea...a Ford shop or Mopar shop "should" have nothing to gain from the deal. Real testing like this, in a controlled environment (as controlled as it can be anyway), would be a very novel approach. I applaud it if it goes down!

So you make sure that whatever shop does the work will provide datalogged proof of intake air temps, engine coolant temps, spark advance, etc. This way all conditions are documented. I would imagine let's say 6 companies decide to join in on this that you run 3 intakes per day. We make sure to do them on days that the Dynojet weather station will apply the same SAE correction, the humidity is within reason (5%) and the outside temperature is within reason (5 degrees).
You CAN provide fair results. Obviously not on a one day ordeal where they're run back to back to back, but if proper cool down time is alloted, datalogs are present, air/fuel ratio and spark advance are givien....I don't see why this cant be done? With us being a larger Ford shop, we're familiar with the results of such tests as the Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Cold Air Intake shootout a few years back when the 2005-2009 S197 Mustang platform was released with JLT, C&L, Steeda, MMR, etc, etc. Who knows how fair things were? If an independent shop conducts the test, writes the article, and sends it in for approval I think it will spark great interest. Chris |

Awesome thought!!
Even though I already purchased a CAI from LMR, I would love to see the results. I think the results will surprise some people. I know the "ease of installation" for the LMR product is a 10 out of 10 for ease...but that is very judgemental. So, let the tests begin and lets see the results. |

Awesome idea!!!! Can't wait on results!!
Definitely want to see multiple factors examined... Price Ease of install Invasiveness of install (how much stuff has to get moved around to fit) Weight Color options(?) And ofcourse all the performance numbers

Great idea LMR. I'd love to see all the available CAI systems compared possibly on the same car, and we'll get to see what the differences are with all the different prices and looks out there, this will definately ease some minds.

Steven, if this takes place in Houston, I will gladly shoot/write the article and submit it to GM High Tech or Chevy High Performance. The article will reflect actual results, and not be limited to any specific advertising companies. Maybe call up another local shop, G-Force perhaps, maybe Fast Lane, and have the tests done off site from LMR.
Might be good to use two example cars. One bone stock car, and one with 500+ rwhp. Tony
