Just to clarify, YES the CARPC will fit the Camaro! E3IO offers 2 different versions of the CARPC. The newer "Small Edition" now has a metal case that measures 6 3/4" depth and will fit into the Camaro dash. The mini ITX version is too long at an 8" depth.

Small Edition (fits Camaro dash): http://e3io.com/2din-car-pc-small-edition

I personally plan to install this unit along with the Scosche dash kit in about a month and will post a step-by-step install thread with review.

Might take more than a month due to their 2-3 week build time of the unit. I've installed CARPC's before so a Camaro install should be a breeze.

Based on your past experience what is required to have it installed. And after install does the carpc function just like a computer, how do you connect to internet on unit (do you have to tether using iphone5 in my case?) i plan on using my gopro camera with the wifi thats why ive been looking for a double din that supports that but kenwood has crappy reviews.

I could careless about steering wheel controls as long as it functions as a pc and std double din functions.

you can use your smart phone to connect to internet or buy a 4g router for a car. I use pdanet. to hook computer up to mobile internet. my cell provider has no idea and i have unlimited data still.

The unit should ship with a wiring harness to connect power, speakers etc.. to the unit. You'll have to purchase an aftermarket wiring harness to connect the unit to the stock wiring unless the Scosche or Metra kit already comes with the wiring. The carpc does act like a pc but you can set it up to boot right into the front end Centrafuse after Windows loads or simply into Windows and then tap the Centrafuse icon to start the program. Centrafuse is similar to Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine software that they use on their units but tailored for carpc's etc...

You can tether your iPhone 5 via usb cable, bluetooth, or Wifi. You'll have to jailbreak your phone If you still have the unlimited data plan from previous iPhone plans using the "Evasion" jailbreak software and purchase MYWI 7 to enable tethering. You can tether for free without jailbreaking only if you have the 5MB data plan from AT&T. Go Pro should work via wifi.

Centrafuse Front End and CF MyLink Skin

This is the Centrafuse MyLink skin deveoped by a private party for the Centrafuse frontend for CARPC's. I think it's pretty slick and will look nice in a Camaro.

This would be hot to blow away the Windows install and throw Linux on. Then build an interface for.
