Not that anyone else was seeming to run into this problem, but I finally fixed this iGO issue with it not installing. Lim continued to direct me to videos but they were all the same, basic, select external, move to the SD card and it will work.
Well, copying files over with File Explorer didn't always bring the contents. Once it was all over and unzipped on the SD card, it was still missing some Voice, Map and Lang folders. SO I used my old iGO files, copied them to the SD card into the directory and folders, uninstalled, reinstalled and bingo!!! I know more the innards of iGO then I ever want to know, but in the process I saw you could add different stuff (ie; cars). In searching for the overall iGO remedy I found a camaro file for iGO which "should" make that a vehicle you can select. Once I find it and see if it works I can share. |

Guys -
I know a few of you have powered the system up offline before car install to the car. I've done this a bunch of times with an external battery (other stereos) - apply power / ground - but for some reason it's not triggering and have not spent much time on it yet. For those that have done this can you tell me what wires you applied 12V ... I assume one is also looking for a switched. My thanks and will dig thru the thread and main harness detail as well. Thanks

Guys I've assumed this issue and any guidance would be appreciated. No access to the GoogleStore and simply inconsistent responsiveness of the system - specifically apps related. Alex - please be as specific as possible and will see if I can reverse this issue but if it involved the file explorer and removing hidden files it's gonna have major issues if Lim can't provide a rebuild file.

Lim has youtube instructions how to upgrade from 2.3 to 4.0 which would be the same to re-install 4.0 over 4.0 if needed. He suggested to use S. America software they have.

For the Google issue Lim said that the date /time needs to be set in the settings before going to Google store. Set time/date for USA and then go to settings/apps/google play and stop it and reset it. Should work after it.

I have Torque Pro, but the 4.0 system doesn't have a fix for the bluetooth dongle. Until that comes through I can't get the torque pro to connect to the head unit. I assume that would be the same problem Shadow Dash would have if it reads from the OBD2.

I finally had time to install the backup camera and run the wire for USB to the center console. I have to say, I am really enjoying this radio. It is probably not for the guy that wants to award winning sound system, but I do believe it is better than my original radio.
I used the Navigation to take me somewhere I didn't know how to get this weekend and it was dead on and easy to follow. I am still waiting for the adapter cables to come in so I can hook up to the GPS on in the shark fin. I am just using the antenna that came with the unit and have it in the glove box. Relocating the WiFi antenna made all the difference in the world and I am able to hit my house WiFi and even some of the city WiFi that Austin has when I am driving around. Reverse camera works great. after I had the angle set, I can back up to within two or three inches from something and I don't have to worry about hitting. Not that I ever did hit anything in the past. I am still hoping that Lim works out the Blue Tooth adapter issues so I can use the torque app.

I will report back once they do, but I got the info from earlier in this thread so I am assuming they will work. 1Gb may help. It can be a little sluggish when moving to different apps. Doesn't seem sluggish at all when your actually using the player or radio or navigation. It takes a little while to boot and is still doing some stuff even once the screen looks like it is done. while it is booting you can still use the AC/heat controls and reverse camera just fine. You may have to wait for it to finish to start listening to music. It has taken as much as a minute for it to finish.

I just noticed those links may not be working good. The cables are.
3feet SMA male plug to female Jack Extender Jumper Cable RG316 1m and Fakra SMB D 4004 male plug to SMA male 6" RG174 pigtail cable GSM antenna. Mine should be in this week so hopefully I can let you know how they work soon.
