No problem. Glad you like em. They are suppose to last a good while too, as long as you're not smoking them all the time, lol.

Is there any specific throttle body better than the others? Ohio speed just released a new one and claims "+13HP and +17lbft TQ over stock with no tuning required!" that seems pretty good to me!

I haven't seen one that was heads above the rest. Vmax is CNC'd so they claim repeatability. Bo does them and i'm sure they are good as well. I've yet to see one that put out those kinds of numbers though. Most times, it's just throttle response that's improved. I would imagine there's a couple HP to be made but i'd have to see a independent confirmation of 13/17.

Yea my money says they're lying. Some time ago a company claimed their headers made like 60 tq and like 50 hp...and another time some other company said their header made like 40 hp...and another time another company claimed their intake made like 20 more hp over another aftermarket intake. And they all were lies. So every now and then some company claims X hp/tq and gets everyone riled up and it usually turns out to be BS. I'm sure their CNC'd TB is at best just as good as V-Max's TB. But it ain't gonna make what they're claiming, because if it were they'd be charging a lot more than $150.

Spent some time on my motor today. Before tearing it apart double checked pre -load and everything is good. All the valve tips look good and nothing else looks out of the ordinary. The lifter was f^%c&^D and wouldn't come out, luckily it was cyl. #7 so I could reach in the cavity on the block and push it in and pull it out through the cavity. Bad news is the roller split and the bearings went south so now I'm pulling the oil pan to clean it out and will be doing the pump AGAIN. Once I pull the heads apart I'm going to test the spring pressure to see if they're fatigued because I'm not seeing anything else.

Any thoughts?

How's the lifter bore?
I think that metal frags were still in the motor from the last.

Keep us posted. This SUCKS but it's still weird.
Also are you using Delphi or GM lifters?

Maybe a different kind? BTR, morel street lifters?

Lifter bore is fine. The pan was pulled and it was thoroughly cleaned last time

Although I'm not sure at this point, I think the weak link may be the lifters themselves or maybe something else valve train related, perhaps springs. I'm trying to pin point it so as to find a solution.

I finished pulling the cam, pump etc. and haven't come up with anything yet. I still haven't found the piece of the lifter roller missing but it most likely is on the windage tray, I'll drop that tomorrow. In my build thread I posted a few pictures of the pieces out of the motor if anyone wants to see them. There are also, further back, pictures of the other two failures. They look identical.

Pulled my heads apart and checked the valve springs, they show signs of fatigue but not sure if it's enough to cause lifter failure. I checked the one that failed and a random one.

Specs say 144lbs@1.810 Mine are 131@ 1.810

I have checked everything valve train related and can find nothing out of the ordinary except for the light spring pressure, If it's not light enough to cause lifter failure then I am thinking it's the lifters themselves. I am most likely switching to LS7 lifters with the new setup.

Any thoughts?
