God damn! We complain about a 6.25% sales tax in Massachusetts. My new '13 SS was $28,000 after all discounts.
Are all cars taxed at such a high rate there, or is it because the Camaro comes from North America? |

All cars are taxed really good. Of course newest are taxed more then older ones. Example if I wanna import car from US, I pay car price + VAT + car tax, that could be 0-50% of cars price. custom makes the final decision about the car tax.
2 years ago I bought '06 mustang gt from sweden, it cost there 20000€ = 27000$ and when I bring it back to Finland, the tax was 9700€ = 13.000$ ![]() And another example, this week I went finnish mercedes-benz website and built brand new S63 AMG L 4Matic with all equipment you can get. Wanna guess the price? Taxless price was 266.660€ = 366.799$, tax is 178.500€ = 245.488 $, so total is 445160€ = little over 600.000$ Sick, isn't it?
