Time for a new motor..
Haven't posted in a while but i have some bad news. My intake valve in cylinder number 4 dropped into the cylinder and completely demolished everything.... Put a nice hole in my block and a chunk of the piston fell out..
So now its time to build an entire new motor. I want something that will be able to make ~800rwhp but for now ill lower the boost and keep the power lower because everything in my drivetrain is stock except for the clutch. so basically i just want to be able to turn up the boost someday when i beef up the tranny and rear end and still have a very reliable engine. Still not too sure about what motor/block ill be using but if anyone has suggestions let me know. I was thinking about the lsx376 B-15 with the six bolt heads and all forged internals but I haven't done any research at all yet and haven't talked to my engine builder so its just a thought rn. Heres some pictures.. ![]()

Welcome to the club!!!! It sucks....but congratulations. It will make sense later
![]() LSX376 is not a bad plan at all, here is a link to some big builds here on camaro5 so you can get some ideas http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=311407

I pulled my LS3 for a LSX and GM SC at 651 miles. Work was done at ADM in TX. Best decision I have ever made. I am putting between 650 and 700 RWHP, depending on which tune I load. It is very drivable and the GO pedal is always ready. I asked to have the hardware overbuilt and the tunes to be mild so it might last longer.

Nice link Bull,
Here is a link directly to ERL... I've had great luck with em... They are building my latest iteration right now... http://www.erlperformance.com/produc...locks-domestic There are a number of good ones out there... 6 bolt is a must for future higher boost..

That sucks but we push these cars hard. Its inevitable. The b15 bang for the buck is probably the cheapest way to get into a 6 bolter. Not the best internals but to step up to the next step will cost a lot more. Good luck. If u are running stock manifolds on your setup they won't clear the 1 bolt on the 6 bolt heads

I hope it is a 15 but probably 8
edit: based on what I paid, it is an 8. And I have about 13 # of boost. Last edited by jrhagen; 05-14-2014 at 11:21 AM. |

It is the 8 based on the pic of the engine in that thread.

The "8" engine has LS3 heads were the "15" engine has the 6 bolt heads.

Valve covers don't really matter, I had to use the original LS3 covers for the coil packs.
