Chase and all,
Recieved my RX catch can on Friday. Installed it today. First, no instructions in the box other than a little slip of paper that said to watch the online video (shared in this thread) and/or go to RevExtreme and read the installation instructions. They were worthless, but I'd already watched the video a couple of times, so that was okay. There were no hose clamps with the can. Is that normal? I noticed in the APEX installation instructions that they use hose clamps. Why would RX be any different? Finally, there was a short piece of hose with a hard metal 90 degree bend at one end - a barb on the other. No mention of where/when/how to use this piece, but I used it since it made my hoses route a little better. As far as I know, it was just a piece of hose. I'm concerned about no hose clamps and also the lack of detailed instructions other than to "watch the guy online" and the instructions provided by revextreme online were atrocious. Should there be clamps on the hoses? Thanks Rod |

Okay - sorry everyone! I sounded a little more crabby in my post yesterday than I actually was. I just was concerned about blowing a hose off of my catch can on a car with 60 miles on it. I'm not a mechanic (don't wanna be) and just needed some assurance that all was as it was supposed to be. Please advise. Thanks Rod

I'm glad I read up on this; I hadn't really thought about the consequences of direct injection meaning the detergents in your gas don't get to clean up your intake valves. Kinda important, that.
Order placed. Fortunately, I'm only at about 600 miles right now, so not too much time for me to worry about having problems already.

Installed my cai intake, apex catch can, and Vmax ported throttle body purchased from apex all at the same time when I drove home from the dealership Saturday. Taking off the stock Pcv line, I could already feel oil on the tube that exits into the intake manifold behind the throttle body (less than 80 miles at that point.) I'm now at just over 400 and there's about a quarter teaspoon in the bottom of the can that would otherwise be in my intake manifold. Quite impressed with the effectiveness and build quality of it. You've definitely got a satisfied and devoted customer here.

Throw them on for piece of mind if you want, but they aren't required.

Sorry noob posting, But, after the installation of the catch can, would oil changes need to become more often to compensate for the amount of oil the can catches? also, I have a 5th Gen V6 and was wondering if following the instructions online for the LS would be similar since the link for the 5th Gen V6 you provided earlier is grayed out. Thanks!
