if you plan to mod the car just get a good deal and do it yourself.

People make more out of this that it is IMO. In my case my waranty is void becaue of mods if I want no rattle I will just add the 2.55 upper pulley and coupler.

now if you want waranty and are never going to touch the car look at the 14's with this fix.

GM only replaces the whole assembly and not all 13's are going to be noisy enough to get them to update. mine is there (it is there on all cars if you know what to listen for) but it is not loud enough to convince anybody to fix anyting yet.

so if you going buy a 13 just listen for the sound an see what you think of it. if you don't notice it much then your not sesitive too it. it is hard to know if the car is going to develope a loud enough sound for the dealer to repair it. some do and some don't.

They changed to a solid coupler. As Hognutz said it's not a big deal and he is right. It really is not a big deal. If you get a 13 just put a solid coupler in it.

I was wondering if maybe they did some other updates to the supercharger unit at the same time. They also had a dry bearing issue.if eaton made This running change maybe they addressed some other issues as well.Venders do not always want to publicize a design change for various reasons.
Just a thought

The rattle is evident at purchase? I thought it was something that happens over time.

Great info thanks ! ,
Notice it says "one of the changes made" is the isolator, I wonder what other hidden updates were done.

Thanks for posting the info about the supercharger. I was able to download a copy of the TSB.

Thanks for the TSB. I took my car in for a rattle/squeal at idle and of course I was told by the service tech that they couldn't duplicate and no known issues with the supercharger. I have a 2013 ZL1 and the exact issues mention in the TSB is happening to me.
