reset airbag light - 2010 Camaro - 24,589 miles - a few questions

I have a 2010 Camaro, with 24,589 miles, and my service airbag light and buzzer has been going off when I drive for the past few days. I called a dealer/service and made an appointment to get it looked at on 6/23/14. I am getting conflicting information as to what this light and buzzer mean. Does this mean that my airbags will not deploy if I am in an accident and therefore I should not drive my car until I get it fixed? Also I am seeing that many people on different forums are reporting having similar issues, however it appears that the only current recall is for 2012 Camaro's. Is that correct?

bags wont deploy with light on its that simple, and I bet its the harness in the seat that's your issue, many Camaros have this issue why they only did the 2012 is beyond me,but most times its the harness in the seat that get stretched and the connection is lost. I have repaired a few of these now by just rerouting the harness and zip tie the connector.
