That makes sense, and that's why it will probably be 75k

I doubt it will be that high even though there were some 2013 GT500s that high when they came out

A fully loaded SRT manual comes in around $52,000 MSRP, thats Nav, summer tires, sunroof, track experience, etc.

The Hellcat will only come fully loaded (no core model) but includes bigger 6-piston brakes, some aero tweaks, different hood, premium leather interior, the 275 Pirelli tires, etc and of couse the supercharged 6.2.

I am betting it will start around $60K with some stand alone options bringing it close to $65-$70

They have upgraded the transmissions for the Hellcat, likely due to the torque limits of the TR6060 (600lb-ft) and the 8 speed (650 lb-ft).

11.6 is the target boost PSI of the 2.4. I bet its around 700hp/650 torque. I cant see spending the funds to upgrade the transmission torque limits if they arent going to push the envelope.

Having witnessed a stock '14 GT500 run consistent low 11's at 128 at MIR on street tires, the Hellcat is going to have its work cut out for it. It should be fun to see either way.

Great runs, but they are very few and far between from what I have seen at VMP. Most owners can only muster high 11s to low 12s with the car on stock rubber, which should easily be within the wheel house of a Hellcat automatic car even with an inexperienced driver.

That is loud for stock pipes but then again all SRT models have had loud pipes.

I think your HP number guess is right on, but the rumors I am hearing about price is pegging it around $75k...

Maybe they aren't worried so much about coming in above the GT500 in HP since the Shelby has been out of production since November, and all but 250 new cars remain at dealers.

The thing I can't understand is why they are starting production on this car in the fall?

They must be relying on hype and that the Mopar faithful will buy them no matter when they will be delivered..

That is consistent for MOPAR. Sales banks always open Sept 1st every model year.

Order banks usually open early June because production is usually stopped in July. It is early July for the 15's for some reason.

SRT's are already out of production, they stopped May 30th. R/Ts and SXT's are produced until July 4th this year.

So if you want to order an SRT, it has to be a model year 15 and it wont be manufactured until 3rd quarter. If you have to have one now you have to get a dealer stock.

Pricing will be interesting and a big factor. A fully loaded SRT is (Nav, sunroof, kicker sound system) is @ $51,000. The hellcat only comes fully loaded. It uses the same block, heads, transmission, driveshaft, etc. so add in supercharger, different hood, different calipers and rear diff and it wont net more than a 10K-15k premium IMHO. I could be wrong of course.

If an SRT hood is say $500.00 to produce and the Hellcat hood is say $900 to produce, it only adds a net $400, not a net $900. Same credits will be taken with the factory parts that are upgraded.

Guess we will have to see. It's all speculation at this point.

Throw on a good exhaust and LTH (like me) and your Camaro will sound just as nice and muscle like.

IF they price the HELLCAT at 75K they would be turning people away IMO. That is way more that either rival and your not getting any huge advantage over the Shelby or the ZL1.

Remember, people are paying $75k for a Z/28..

With fully loaded diesel pickups coming in near $70k, prices on vehicles keep going UP!

The Shelby is pretty much out of the equation, with less than 300 new cars left at dealers, the remaining ones could see the mark-ups again until the new GT350 arrives.

If it does come with a fully forged motor, coupled to the 8-speed auto, it will be at a premium price.
