OK, this explains it a little better:

http://money.cnn.com/2014/06/13/auto...all/index.html

So GM is detaching the key from the fab. Without that big clunky fab for our knees to bump, I guess they think the problem is solved. I hope it is. Looks like we'll be heading to the dealship to get new keys. Sucks, I kinda like the switchblade key inside the fab...

My memory is that the Cobalts, the key would fall out, even in the ON position, which without the key in there, triggers the security system to shut the car down.

With my long legs I've noticed being close to the key in our cars but never that close so as to bump it. I see the only recourse on our car is a completely different key fob ???? Unless they plan on redesigning the steering console to move the lock mechanism which is big $$$$

After a quick Google, I found an article that simply says they are going to give us normal keys like where the Key and the Fob are separate. I don't quite get the logic either since hanging stuff from the key seems to increase the likelihood of a problem.

Damn I'm good lol

I'm going to blame the dumbing down of society on this... next we won't be able to have manual cars because there is a possibility of your or your passengers arm knocking the car out of gear.....
