I'm so sorry to hear about your car! I know it won't be the same but I hope you get a replacement soon.

The most likely situation is towing these cars off. Hot wiring a car is very difficult this day in age with all the systems.
not anymore. granted, this is about disabling locks and alarms, but the rest of the electronics work the same way. just a matter of time, if it hasn't happened already

Did you buy your camaro with the "Karr" alarm installed? I heard they replace your car if it's stolen.

I think thats what happened to me this weekend.. No damage to my car, just unlocked when I got to it. The night before my girlfriend got back from Walmart and she and my sister remember hitting the fob lock repeatedly to the point where my sister was like "wtf, why are you doing that so much".

So IDK.. but this really sucks

You beat me to it. Unless you are leaving your car overnight on the lower East Side or north of Harlem, you should be good. NY has the lowest crime rate of any large city in America. Most of the car thefts are in outer boroughs, Jersey City, and Newark.

OP - I'm sorry for your aggravation. Hopefully you don't lose any money because of this. Hopefully you had GAP. I've had a car stolen and know the feeling. Good luck.

I definitely recommend the Club to everyone... More effective than almost any other system out there, yet so basic and simple.

This morning (Sunday) I received a call from the Vallejo (California) Police Department and my car was found stripped of its engine and interior. Ironically, an On Star operator also phoned me to report that my car could not be located and the search would continue for 48 more hours (really???). Now I could bemoan On Star, but we know its effectiveness (tongue in cheek). This is damn disappointing to say the least. If SS's can be stolen off of dealership lots, then what chance does the everyday, hard-working individual have? I know firsthand what that answer is.

Major condolensces! Having literally JUST finished the process on my own stolen car (LITERALLY got the check today), I would definitely say that our cars are popular for thieves in Oakland. They found what was left of mine (AKA the frame) on Thursday of last week. Mine was parked at BART in Dublin and it was stolen in BROAD daylight...bastiges.....Next one is going to have a GPS alarm with a redundent battery power suply that notifies me on my cell phone to any changes. I'm gonna bury that thing so deep into the car that by the time any fool gets a hold of it, hopefully the police will be swarming the place.

I wasn't. Mine was parked in a handicapped spot (legally) in the Dublin BART parking lot and it was stolen between 1p - 4:30-so what's you're incredibly insensitive response to my theft?

Ya, that's what I'm going to do when I buy the replacement Camaro. I have a club that goes from the brake pedal to the steering wheel. Just gonna lock that sucker down as much as I can. Feel so bad for people (like me) who had their cars stolen...such a violation.
