w/ sales the way they are GM isn't going to do anything. So they lose some sales to Dodge, no biggy(Ford will too)...GM is planning on recouping current/new customers w/ the 2016 Camaro. Then they can power it up as needed.

This is all about the gen 6, gen 5 is in the bag. Unless GM came out with a mid year surprise.

I was out of the country for several weeks, multiple time this year so I watched everything I could find car related on the internet. I looked for it again when this debate came up about the Vette holding back the Camaro but couldn't find it. Perhaps this will be my next mission. Edit: Add that the Chevy said the Grand Sport was the benchmark for the ZL1 development. Acceleration, braking and cornering.

This makes sense because like we all know competition makes best and and that's all we want! The teams should always have to prove their worth just like ppl at any other job! If the Camaro beats the Corvette, than the Corvette team needs to be on the hot seat!

Wow! Wow! The Camaro has been taking care of it's own battles! GM never gets the Corvette for the Camaro competition! Now the Camaro being giving stuff from the Corvette only makes sense, I mean the mustang did get its engine from the F150!

Still no answers to my post #84?!?!?!
![]() I would like to know the truth. So,....is the SRT team lying about all the times/numbers they are posting? If so,...that's false advertising, right? ![]() I would like to know the truth before possibly purchasing one in 2016. ![]() So,....it can't go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds? It can't handle on the road course? According to the SRT team,...it does all this. |

In both stock tires and drag radials? NHRA certified. Has any other brand does this? Got their vehicle NHRA certified? I'm not being facetious, just curious. Oh yeah,......the 707 HP and 650 TQ is also certified. SAE certified. And,...that is back of the crank HP and TQ. The actual HP is OVER 800 on the HC engine. Unless, SRT engineers are lying??? Are they?? Quote:
I really don't think Dodge is lying either. |

Wow, not sure why you are even here, if the 707 HP is SAE certified, how can it be over 800? HP is either at the crank or rear wheels. Who cares what it did on drag radials, these are manufacturers claims so it should be tested as it comes from the factory. Please provide a copy of the NHRA certification. What were the conditions, what track, what driver. Was the car completely stock? Also where are its track times and top speed times and who were they certified by? Based on the balance of the car and weight the ZL1 is a much better overall car. Can show me where it is a better DD, 1/4 and track car that is dependable? Also what is its safety ratings, the Camaro was the first car to ace all areas of the safety tests. Basically you have a lot of splainin to do.

Personally, I'd run 100 octane, tune the engine, drop the exhaust, remove swaybars, rear seats, and put lighter brakes from another model on it. I will admit to being puzzled how they picked up MPH by going to a stickier tire. I've always lost MPH when I changed to drag tires. Yes, my ET's fell, but my MPH did too. Do 20" drag radials really drop 0.4 seconds off your sixties, when you are already running 1.8 sixties? Big rims are a dumb choice for good sixties. Or did they put 15" rims and tires on the rear (see change brakes). Just food for thought. The truth will come out when real owners run their cars at the strip. If the MPH ain't there, then Dodge monkeyed with the car for the NHRA test. You can add tire and/or VHT to drop ET's, but you can't add MPH without removing weight or adding HP.
